Is Navi removable?

Is it possible to remove the Navi from a 2001 and place it in a 2003 or would the thieft deturent prevent that from happening? What would be needed to be done to the Navi if the thieft deturent were a problem in this hypothetica situation?

You mean install it in a non-navi car? Just buy a car with navi. Cheaper than replacing the whole dash. As for installing the navi from a 2001 in a 2003, I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as you have the code. But what's the point?

Yeah im with you on this one! If you get the car without the navi, you would have to gut that part of the dash to have it fit. The non-navi's have a different dash setup.

Sounds like what he's trying to say is...

"If I broke into someone's CL and stole the navi unit and display and all the associated parts for the navi...would I be able to install it in my 2003 CL non-nav?

Given that no one has a 2003 yet, it would probably still be cheaper to just buy the car with navi in the first place. Can you imagine all the labor required to convert a non-navi car to navi, even if the screen were free? Don't forget the unit in the trunk.

BTW, I was just kidding about that. I read his other post and understand why he wants to do it.

i know personaly that u can take out the navi system. My friend has a Tl, and he has the navi. He didnt persay take it out and put it in another car, he took the navi out of its position above the radio, and then took out the stock radio. He then moved the navi to where the radio was, and placed a 8inch tv screan which has all the functions of the tv, radio, and cd/dvd changer in truck. he also has nitrous tanks and a phat ass spund system. Only bad thing is the miles ont he car, cause if they werent soo high, hes askin 15 for it, id by it in a heart beat. its also got a wings kit, or stock kit, cant remember. So like i said, it can be taken out. its just in by a plug.
