Name that part......hmmm

Ok, today I was in an accident on the freeway and got broadsided by the front passenger tire. At first I did nt think too much damage had happened but when I got the car home and took the wheel of the whole rotor assembly fell. Whatever the piece that attaches to the upper control arm to the rotor assembly is what I need.

The thick piece that attaches to the upper control arm and goes down to the back of the rotor assembly, whats that part called? I tried to find a pic of it but I dont know what to search for.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if im rambling but im a little shaken up.

MODS IF THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION PLEASE LET IT RIDE, THIS SECTION GETS MORE LOOKSIES THAN THE REST.

Are you talking about the spindle AKA (knuckle)? If the piece also conects to the outer tierod then its the spindle.

Ok, I found the knuckle that I needed and I pick it up Monday, does anyone know know how hard it would be to change that over. Im pretty mechanically inclined, I do my own brakes, oil change, spark plugs so I think I can tackle this with no problem.

Would an alignment be necessary afterwards?

aliment YES,you crashed the car.Probally should of told you before.but usally if the spindle gets broke, theres a good chanceyou could've stripped a inner or outer tie rod.Not to mention there could be damage to your rack.like stripped the rack or even moved the rack. definitly get it lined up,after the install

Yeah it was hit. Its actually not as bad as I thought it was. If I had known my knuckle was broke I would have had it towed to a garage to have it fixed. Unfortunately its in my garage now, nose in with no front wheel so I will replace the knuckle then take it somewhere and let them do the rest.

Thanks for your feedback bro.
