My Tranny just went at 45K...
My tranny just failed me comming back from work.
My tranny failed before at like 33K and ACURA just replaced the fluid and worked fine till today.
I have not been driving hard AT ALL no more since I dont really know how to drive and I always crash so thats why it took so lonk to bite the bullet.
I was comming home from work, and at a stop sign i started to accelerate slowly but car didnt move till RPMs hit like 3K.
It jerked me then it slowly climed to V-tech(6-7kRPM's) in 2nd gear and i was going slow, it wouldnt switch, then it fiannaly did..
Then it jerked at every stop, and a block from the crib the VSA triangle lit up The VSA letters lit up and the Check engin (red) light came on.
I called PAA and I gotta drop her off 10-11 AM and they getting me a hertz rent a car since ther fresh out of Acura rentals...

Man, if Acura his all these transmissions problems, wouldn't you think they would do a recall to fix the problem and get rid of the bad publicity?

Sorry, and off to the tranny dirt nap forum
Sorry to hear about your problems...
1. Did you wait 2-hours for the "Acura Roadside Assistance?" I've tried calling them as a test, and I've tried some "late night" experiments calling the 800 #, and I finally gave up (sitting in the comfort of my home). IMO, I'll keep my AAA for towing (if and when the day comes)...
2. Be sure to ask for "compensation" for your woes (extended warranty, etc -- whatever). It doesn't hurt to ask.
MODS: Please move this to the Tranny Problem Forum...

Well at least you're in very good hands at PAA.
My tranny went out in just under 13K miles and I only drive on the weekends. PAA gave me a (pos) Ford escort - made me miss the CLS so much - but guess what? They finished the tranny job in a day, plus I got my brake pads replaced for free too.
Good luck to ya.

There are probably more than a few accountants and marketing people doing a real good analysis of bottom line "costs"...
There was an interesting 60-minutes II on a CEO that did the "right things" and he will probably be getting an exit visa for being too good to his workers... (different situation, but...)
