my Toyota rant

okay I know this isn't a Toyota forum but I have a rant.
my Dad and I share a 2002 Toyota Tundra 4x4 regular cab I force V-8 we bought new.
but up till recently it's been a good truck.
The paint chipping like hell from rock chips(keep in mind this truck only a year old)
The trailer harness already went out(i took it into the shop eariler today)
here's the phone call:
Service manager:"Hello thank you for call(name of toyota dealer)Toyota
Me: yes, I have a 2002 Tundra and the wiring harness to the trailer went bad could I get it in sometime soon to get it taken care of
Service manager: well we're not gonna
MeI cut him off) Look buster I paid 24 grand for this truck I bought it brand new from you guys you better fix it or so help me lord I'll never buy a truck from your dealership again.
Service manager: (he sighed) Okay what time are you bringing it in.
then i told him and that was the end of the phone call.

now the 2nd complaint on bahalf of my soon to be brother in law.
he has a 2001 Celica GT.
He's had sh!tty service too. (the car wasn't done when they said it was done after he drove a hour each way)(this was at a different dealer than the one I b!tched at)
plus the tires they put on wore REALLY FAST(like 15-20k)(and no he wasn't peeling out and acting stupid with them)(i've road with him)
the wiper blades they put on new squeeked and chattered.

I'm thinking they suppose to be as good as Honda and they are pulling sh!t like this.

Oh I have a toyota rant that tops that....(sorry for the hijack)

toyota and the dealer both tried to take advantage of my 85 yr old grandfather. There was some huge problem w/ the engine and when the "check engine light" went on he IMMEDIATLY took it to the dealer. Problem fixed, but they claim it was my grandfather's fault. They told him that he shouldn't have drove the car after seeing the light but instead he should have stopped and had it towed. Now who does that for a check engine light???? The manual even tells you to take it to the dealer! So the dealer said that since my grandfather drove the car to the dealer instead of towing it, that caused the major damage and tried to get $$$$ out of an old man. Well, my father stepped in and got toyota corp. involved. Months and months later Toyota is slowly cooperating...I don't know all of the details, but to this day the matter is still quite active.

oh yea, my grandfather still loves his camry....

I'm having my "issues" with my 03 4Runner too. 1 recall already, then the belt tensioner and pully need to be replaced and the driver seat squeaks, a lot! Plus, and this may be normal for Toyotas but when I get into the throttle, the sulphur-egg smell is the absolute worse stank I've ever come across. I know every car makes some oder but this is really bad. I even change octanes and makes witht the same STANK! -rant complete.

Ok I know Toyota dealers arent the greatest, but in my family we have:

Mom - 02 highlander, previously 86 camry
Dad - 00 sienna (company car)
Grandfather - 02 sienna (company car)
Grandmother - 00 avalon
Grandmother - 84 tercel
Stepmother - 98 camry
Aunt - 00 camry, previously 84 camry
Aunt - 94 tercel
Uncle - 84 land cruiser
Step grandfather - LX470

I missed at least one but i cant remember

Absolutly no major problems with any of them. Plus we have two above average toyota dealers near us.
I'll give you the paint isnt as good on the newer ones, thats both price and environment crap, a lot of companies going cheaper/less toxic on paint.
