my spit ate through the paint
As most of us do, when you are driving and you need to spit you roll the window down and spit away from the car. Well I was on the highway and I tried to do that. But with the high speeds, it bounced back onto the side of the car.
I didn't clean it off for a few weeks (yes, my fault). When I washed my car yesterday, the f#cking spit ate right through the paint. I'm talking about bare metal now.
Has this ever happened to anyone before?
How much do you think it will cost to repaint that spot? It's about 1" wide and 6" long.

I've never spit out my window. I have not spit on the sidewalk since I was about 10 years old. Do people actually still spit, outside of a dentists office?

If you do have a 1x6" bare metal spot on the car, I'd get that whole panel redone before the rust sets in. That's way too big for a touch up. A whole body panel may be $500+ for paint/labor depending which panel was ruined.
edit -- I see that you now think the spit was vomitus. Much more acidic then saliva, but still going to metal?...hmmm Reminds me of Alien.

I learned not to spit out the window a few years ago. I was sick didn't have anything to spit in, so out the window it went, & right back into my left ear, & on my drivers door. Really nasty thick flem, alot of it too. Now I keep tissue in the car at all times.
For your paint, something that big that's down to bare metal needs the whole panel done. Could get away with a repair of the area, but it might look like crap after a year.

If I'm looking at 500 bucks to repaint the panel, what can I put on it for the time being to prevent rust. I don't care if it looks like crap right now, I'll get it repainted in a few months.

You're not experimenting with teleporters are you? If so a fly might have got in there and combined with your DNA. If you find yourself spitting on your food to dissolve it before you eat it you may have a problem. Also keep an eye out for an increased appetite and extremely thick hairs growing from your back.

That is some funny shit. Sorry but it is funny. If you knew you spit on the car why wouldn't you take the 30 seconds and wash it off? You wait 2 weeks. Why buy a nice car if you don"t take care of it? You must smoke if you need to always spit out the window.

What I don't understand is how in the hell could you not wash ur car for three weeks w/ a huge load of spit on the side. Besides...where do you live cause it rains like every tens minutes in NY!!!!
