Yeah VW and Audi have been having MAJOR problems with their coil packs....... I've heard there's people that have been waiting WEEKS for the parts to come in because there's such a huge demand for them.

my boss's wifes 02 1.8t wagon has been a nightmare. There is a known problem with the coils in the 1.8t engines. There are 4 coils and they are all bad. They will only replace them as they go bad so get ready for more of this kind of thing. He told me that one of the service managers told him that VW of America knows about the problem but does not have enough parts to issue a recall. If yo9ur car goes in make a big deal out of it and demand that all four are replaced. His car is in arbitration to be recalled. Car has had many problems. If you have a queastions about the crap he has been through or need some info about yours here is his email; azzy@916motoring.com.

My friend's 2003 A4 1.8T's coil pack went yesterday. His car is going to be in the shop until Tuesday, but he got a loaner A6.. Not bad at all
