Talking My Sexy Lips

As i promise, here are sum pic of my (in progress) TL lip kit, ill post more soon, so enjoy!

Look at all those clamps

Now i have like 40 claps lying around and taking up space

NOOOoooo!!! theres gaps!!!

Just use a thin piece of metal to pull the lip towards the bumper to cover up the gaps.

Bolt that shit down

This is where i cut the lip at

No more gaps, yay!

Just started on the front lip, more pic to come.

The 02-03 lip is the same as the 99-01, except for the front. The sides are to long, about an inch longer and have to be cut shorter. I cut a little to much that's why theres a gap. The rear, same thing its to long. Depends on where u cut it, u can see where I cut mines.

It does seem like the claps cost a fortune, but there 99 cent each! Total, $40

The TL lip slaps rite next to the stock side lips and the stock lips slaps rite into the car with the brackets or clips. Thats how it bolts on.

the top of the lip runs just over the top of the exhaust cut outs. and the stock tips hit the edges of the new tl round holes. best to get new round tips welded on or after market exhaust.

i see pics! are you planning on cutting the ends of the TL skirts so that the finished skirts don't end up being longer? Are you going to flare them out too?

The lip cover up the exhaust hole perfectly, as u can see in the pic. Since i have the HKS axleback, I barely clear the tip. Im in the process of putting the sides and rear back on so ill grab some pic.

No im probly not gonna cut the ends of the side lips. It may be just a little bit longer cus of the ends sticking out but i want it to flush against the side of the car.

it will look weird with the skirts being too long. take your time and make them even with the original skirts...plus you'll want to flare them out a bit so they match the rest of the kit. Look at distorted's pics and you'll see what he did. It would only take 5 minutes....and it will still sit flush against the car like it supposed to.

You cant use body filler on plastic!

Buy or borrow a heat Gun and plastic weld your parts.

thats the best way that i though of doing the rear lip. I know I can just epoxy it to the bumper it would look better but imma need a extra pairs of hands which I dont have lying around lol. imo it actually looks pretty good wit my 4inch exhaust tip sticking out.

incorrect. if properly prepped you can, but only in thin layers.

My fault let me be more descriptive, You cant bond 2 pieces of plastic with body filler. And further more body filler will absolutely not correctly adhere to clear cote or any other glossy finish.

If you plan to put body filler anywhere on the car be sure to scuff the surface thoroughly first then apply in thin layers.

You might as well start over now because it will just crack loose later.

Im not trying to be a dick.

Just trying to save you some time and money.

Chip off the areas where you put it over the clear cote (side skirts / ends of lips) scuff the crap out of the areas and a few inches past. You might get away with not plastic welding the parts that are reinforced from behind but the parts that aren't are going to crack.

hahaha "You cant bond 2 pieces of plastic with body filler" EXACTLY! bondo, even though it contains the work bond, is not used for holding to parts together. that was also the first though that came to mind when i saw this.
