the reason they call it a parking brake is because it is made for parking. You put it on when you park on a slight hill so your transmission doesn't lock up. Any engine can over power the parking brake.

Go have it checked.

My car does not move much if the parking brake is on.

then maybe it's just mine, but not only does the tranny lock up (which sounds and feels like it puts a ton of stress on it), the car moves until the tranny locks, so my brake is basically useless.

I honestly don't think I've even used the parking brake yet.

I've never tried to drive with the parking brake on. But I have noticed that the car will roll until it hits the transmission's parking mechanism. Someone suggested hitting the parking brake, putting it in neutral, releasing the main brakes, and letting it roll until the parking brake stops it. Then put it in park. I haven't tried it on any steep hills, but it works fine so far. I don't like putting more stress on the tranny than I have to.

I was having the same problems as other people.....the POS would roll back untill i heard the tranny lock(using the putting the car into park--with the regular brake on and then hitting the ebrake). Right now I'm leaving the car in d5, holding down the regular brake and then putting on the ebrake and then putting the car in park. It seems to work better this way sometimes. WTF!!!! Need to be a genious or something to work a brake! I'm going to have the dealership look at it.....maybe other ppl at the Park Avenue Acura meet.
