My new 02 CL

I just purchased a 02 Acura Cl a few weeks ago that's a pretty clean car. The car has 128k miles on it and I got it for a pretty good price. I replaced the timing belt and water pump, power steering belt and the ac/alternator belt. Flushed the coolant, power steering fluid and replaced the plugs. This past weekend I did the rotors and pads in the front they needed it pretty bad. I did 3x2 transmission flush and in a few more miles I'll be doing another one. My son has a 01 I got for him last September. I'm happy to be apart of this forum, have found some pretty good info on here. I got some rsx wheels for it but didn't like the way it looked. I'll save them for the 5 lug on the EF.

Welcome! sounds like you're on top of the maintenance. They're pretty great cars aside from the auto trans that can be hit or miss. Blue is a great colour too. Both need some lowering springs!

Congrats on the purchase! Yours looks clean, and you did the right thing taking care of the timing belt first.

Great ride. I've got a 03 CL. At 135k I had to adjust the valves as I was getting random cyl misfires, and a bit of a rough idle when cold, a bit better when warm but not totally smooth. The #4 exhaust valves has almost NO clearance, and most valves where way out of spec loose(intake) or tight (exh). After the valve adjustment the engine idles smooth as a baby's butt!!

I have an 07 Pilot, same exact findings, valves adjusted at 160k, smooth as silk after, random misfires gone.

Cheers
Pete

Thanks for sharing I may have to adjust valves too for my Cl and honda element...they are both showing random misfire codes

Congrats on the ride and welcome. Glad to hear you took care of the important things first on your new ride (timing belts). Do you know if the trans. has been replaced?
