I know the car is kinda made for a sporty suspension... but the ride is just too rough for her. Is there an aftermarket parts that i can add to get the rough feel out of the car? By the way its a 99 altima.

Does it have 16" wheels or does it have the 15" wheels?

Without changing shocks, you might look for a tire dealer to recommend some soft riding rubber.

Finally, is it an SE. My wife's is a 95, but not an SE. The tires are the GS-As and rides very nicely.

Boy, I know there is always a solution. Try checking with TireRack and seeing if they have any soft riding tire. Even my wife's car has pretty good shocks, springs, and sway bars in it (from the factory). Without de-engineering the car, you might want to think about moving her to something else. It seems easier to find "performance" parts than non-performance parts.

There is an Altima forum. The people are pretty nice and I got some good recommendations for some new tires for her car (soon).

You might want to wander over there and see if someone is a "parts swap guru."

How much you would be willing to spend to modify the car -- in a fashion -- that most buyers wouldn't be seeking out; thus making its resale value lower.

(Last paragraph is just my gut feeling -- no evidence to support this.)
