I have a G-tech, here's what I can tell:
1. I presume it has a sensor in it.
2. plug'n'play
3. www.gtechpro.com $139.95
4. Pretty accurate. You must be on a flat surface to get an accurate result. Hills and other won't do any good.

Why drink and drive, when you can smoke and fly?

1. Check the site -- it uses a "special" sensor to measure acceleration and it has a very accurate timer/clock.
Velocity = Acceleration * Time
Distance = Velocity * Time = Acceleration * Time^2
If you have velocity, distance, and time calcs, you have got all you need to figure out 0..60, 1/4 mile, etc.
You want to be sure to follow the instructions and align the unit well. Make sure the unit faces forward and reads zero on a level spot. Check for any play in the mount between runs.
2. Very easy to use and install. Read the instructions. The unit uses a single pushable slide switch to get all of the functions. There is a suction cup mount for it and you just plug it in to the cigarette lighter.
3. As the guys said from GTECH or Summit racing or other vendor.
4. Very accurate if used with great care. This is a tool and can be misused. The repeatability is great for testing mods on your car. The people who actually have them and have gone to the track have verified the accuracy of the unit. Note: the 1/4 mile trap speed will be off due to the way the speed is calc'd (see GTECH site).
I use it, and figured out some calcs for how much power should be gained with temp and the figures seemed to work for me. I've talked to other members via email and they have also gone to dynos or the track and gotten readings they expected. Get advice from someone who has used it.
Finally, if you do some 0..60s or 1/4 miles, please be safe and make sure you do the runs in both directions. Averaging couldn't hurt.
(wow, that's too much -- sorry)
