My gripes....

Does anyone else but me have a problem with the outside mirrors not adjusting outward far enough? I was taught at Skip Barber to adjust your mirrors where you do not see the sides of your car but pick up where your inside rearview mirror leaves off. I cannot cover my blindspot in this car?? Wat's up wid dat?

Yeah, I have that problem too. One of several minor details like

1) The seatbelts don't retract properly! AAARRRGGGHHH!
2) Could use a tad more headroom
3) Foot parking brake - yeah, I'm used to it now
4) Luggage crushers on a $30K car? C'mon Acura!
5) Rattles, rattles, rattles

I'm just glad we have some ex-Cobra owners on here cuz they make us feel better telling us their horror stories about those POS's!!!

my complaints:
1. the rim stick out too much
2. foot hand brake???!!! how am i supposed to do a 360 now....
3. the audio control on the steering wheel only lets you skips forward, yet no rewind/go backward
4. road lamps don't do anything... well, maybe it is the way they are...
5. power seat slide is way too slow... my friends always complain that they gotta wait so long before they can enter the backseat.
6. moonroof doesn't open all the way

that is for now...

Turn head, look before lane change. I was also taught defensive driving. Yep, there is a blind spot (for me). But, I always check with a head turn. I was taught to never trust the mirror -- saved my butt a bunch of times (just my opinion...)

I'd also love to have those little ultrasonic range finders in the front and rear for tight parking (little bar graphs in the Navi display). Maybe, in 2003...

Honda/Acura should pay someone to monitor this forum. He/she could copy down all of our questions and gripes and use that info to hopefully make an even better CL!

Well then, throw in the Lamem "LOOSE" dash air vents, that even the one they replaced, is still too loose !

Did anyone mention the wonderful "cup holders" ?

Folding rear seats would be nice too !

A power button for the driver to control the passenger power seat, when you have folks for the back seat !

There used to be a guy from Ramsey Acura that was monitoring and contributing on the "other" site but I haven't heard from him in a month or so. I think his boss got after him somewhat for trying to get deposits on TL-S'.

my complaints:
- Cant fit through the sunroof.

- Also, my feet freeze in the winter in the CL-S, but not in ANY other car.

- although i cant see the difference between my black CL-S's paint, and the paint of my neighbors jet-black Mercedes S-Class, its still an issue cause i hate seeing you guys write about it.

Only those three, my car is perfect in everything else, i have had no rattles, no hairy seats, sound system is perfect, audio controls on wheel are perfect, the scratched rims no matter what we say, is our fault, and look good. I dont need folding seats, my seatbelts retract always, i like the wood trim, and something that i am dissapointed about proplr complaining is.. WHY WOULD YOU GUYS WANT A HAND BRAKE IN THIS LUXURY CAR???? JUST IMAGINE A HAND BRAKE IN THE CAR, IT WOULD MAKE IT LOOK CHEESY. and besides, i had fun in the snow with the foot break, and it was better than handbreak

I love this car, even if i had all the problems you guys have with it.

--On Soapbox:

Hmmm... When I called Acura Care about the dealer's bull about my free Navi upgrades *and* about all of the dealers (around LA) that were still giving out wrong info, they didn't seem to care very much. They were not rude, but seemed indifferent. When I told them that I had a witness *and* that other people were getting misinformation, they said that was a problem to take up with the individual dealer.

Ok, so enough victim stuff. IF we really wanted to get some action, we could start a "horror-story" Acura dealer site. That might get some attention.

Make sure to put in good stories about great/good dealers. Then have a "bad" dealers section. When the sales get hurt, businesses do something about it. (Kind of like those channel xxx investigations.)

Good (?) to know that I'm not the only one with the seat-belt retractor, rear defroster, and yes, hairy seats gripes. I just noticed the hairy seats on the passenger side last night - what's the deal with that!?!

Just passed 2K miles and still love my CL-S though!

#1... Why are you trying to fit through the sunroof. Hmmm? What're ya doing that requires that?
#2 Handbrake turns are fun in the rain, snow and slick stuff. You can do it with the foot operated brake but you can't control how much pressure you can put on it. I have a big empty parking lot out behind my townhouse and I love to do a 180 or 270 and end up facing the garage door. My neighbors love it when I do it. (At least they tell me they do. One wanted to know how to do it.)
#3 I love the damn car but this is a forum about cars... Acuras as a matter of fact. If we didn't have this to bitch about think how dull it would become!

Amir,

We all still love our cars. Why else would we spend too many hours jawing about them. You won't find me on the Ford Explorer bbs.

I seriously would like to find how to get Acura involved with us so that they could get some valid feedback. As a product developer myself (internet things) we yearn for the bitch list of our products.

Good thing I was toilet (99 COBRA) trained. I'm hapy with anything now........... actually my list is short since "it's always something" with cars:
1-moonroof opening for chipmunks only
2-mirrors too high and big, just ask the 325i I nearly creamed
3-no fold down seats-of course we'd have LOTS of rattles if they did
4-SELF LOCKING mind of its own...not good
5-seat belts- NON retractors, and NO shoulder height adjustment
6-people stare at it all the time....must be the gold. Actually that's a good thing.
All in all, not too bad when compared to the Cobra, or some of the gripes I've had with other cars.
