My First Post...

My name is Greg I daily drive a 02 Acura Cl 3.2 and my race car is a 92 Ford Mustang. I'm not new to the forum Ive just been lurking around here without saying anything.haha I had a few questions so I decided to make this my 1st post before asking/posting. This forum is pretty big and nice!! Well here's some pictures of the daily driver maybe ill make a thread about my stang too if you guys are interested but I doubt it lol

I don't have a recent pic of the car so here's one in front of my friends house and here's one when I went to the track.

It ran 15.0 @ 93 5 speed auto bone stock

Well thanks...it's coming along.

I've only owned the car just over a year now so if you have some extra cash I'm sure we are going to see some updates from you.

Luckily I had a decent year in sales last year that privileged me enough extra cash to invest in some mods while playing it cool with the girlfriend so it was a win-win.

Thanks everybody and that 15 flat was my second or third pass the car is very constant since it's auto and it doesn't really burnout or get wheel hop at all. As for wheels and suspension im not exactly sure yet im sure you guys could help me out alot on what brand coil over's to get all I know it I don't want to ruin the ride of the car. I think im willing to spend around $1,500 and under on the coil over's and as for wheel's I have a open mind I was thinking something like 18's so i can still have a tire with some side wall. I like some of the gun metal Acura wheel's but I don't know the name's or maybe even some work emotion's I like some of there bronze ones.

One thing to keep in mind 1foxbody

The suspension is pretty much universal between the 6th Gen Honda Accord Coupe, 2nd Gen TL, and 2nd Gen CL.

Sometimes they have different spring rates but they fit.

That opens the doors for a few extra options.

A lot of member supplied info. here.

Here's what it looked like while it was running. Sorry I don't have any pictures when I was spraying it.

Here it is currently in the garage I have a long way to go lol

If you don't want a very stiff suspension, then get Tein SS-P coilovers.

Welcome, I prefer the K-sports. They are very stiff though. Like AMGala said if you dont want them that stiff go with the Teins. That stang is sweet

Thanks for the comment's and replies guy's. The stang is coming together slowly hopefully ill have it finished before the summer then once I get a feel of it hopefully I can run some 8 second passes.haha That's my money maker if ya know what I mean lol In the pics of the car launching it was all motor I never got any shot's of it leaving on the spray I had a 150 shot on it other than that the engine was basically bone stock and it ran a 11.3 @119.

As for the Cl I want that to be my nice daily driver car. Ive been doing some reading around here and it seems like teins for coil over's is the way to go for what I want. I just need to figure out which model ones I want. I'm not going to lie im in no rush at all because my stang is my number one priority to get finished but ill do some thing's to the Cl here and there.

I have a couple questions about the Cl.
1. What model does the black housing headlight's come on I really like those?
2. Can I get a hid kit for my fog light's so they don't look so dull looking since there regular bulbs? Or where can I get those scoops that replace the fog light's completely?
3. What model does the blackout grill come on I really like that instead of the dark gray and chrome one that's on there?
4. What's the differences between my car the non type s and the type s not appearance wise im talking engine differences?
5. What's a good brand for carbon fiber hood and trunk for our car's?
6.I have 96,xxx miles right now when should I replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner? I was thinking around 105,000 miles
7. I have a few more questions but I don't know if I should make separate threads or not lol?

Let me know thanks

I'll give it a stab...

1)

2003

2)

No aftermarket or OEM HID fog light kit currently in production for the CL.

Two common options; 03 "blank" road lamp insert or replacement LED or higher wattage bulbs.

3)

Blackout grille...I'm assuming you mean the grille surround being color-matched to you Nighthawk Black Pearl...again an '03 feature.

4)

Quoted from ChodTheWacko's Acura CL FAQ's... A must read!

http://www.geocities.com/gamesmgr/chod/acura/

Differences between CL-P and CL-S?

Here's a list:
CL-S has Perforated leather, firmer seats, and lumbar support.
CL-S has 'Type S' on the trunk and shift knob. (CL-P has a flat leather knob)
CL-S has white instrument cluster
CL-S has an actuator
Ebony Cl-S interiors use the Black (bowling bowl) wood trim.
CL-S uses 17" 5 spoke rims. CL-P has 16" rims.
There are some distinct Type S and non-type S colors:
Type-S: Aegean Blue, Sundance "Pimp Daddy" Gold, San Marino Red
Non Type-S: Dark Emerald (Green), Naples Gold, Monterey Blue, Eternal Blue
CL-S has a VSA button.
CL-S has 35 additional horsepower.

5)

VIS Racing

http://www.visracing.com/

Really only one manufacturer of the carbon fiber hood and trunk.

There can be complications with the hood fitment.

Hood latches or pins are strongly encouraged based on my experience.

I just put a carbon fiber hood on the other day.

6)

Acura recommends replacement at 105k.

7)

Search first and if no answers then make new threads to address your individual questions would be my advice.

I have a couple questions about the Cl.
1. What model does the black housing headlight's come on I really like those?

2003

2. Can I get a hid kit for my fog light's so they don't look so dull looking since there regular bulbs? Or where can I get those scoops that replace the fog light's completely?

not on the stock road lamps... still being reviewed on ways to get hid in them... get aftermarket fogs like the honda accord and dremel them in....

3. What model does the blackout grill come on I really like that instead of the dark gray and chrome one that's on there?

2003

4. What's the differences between my car the non type s and the type s not appearance wise im talking engine differences?

hp/tq i think..... someone answer this

5. What's a good brand for carbon fiber hood and trunk for our car's?

VIS

6.I have 96,xxx miles right now when should I replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner? I was thinking around 105,000 miles

1.) What model does the black housing headlight's come on I really like those?

2003 CL

2.)Can I get a hid kit for my fog light's so they don't look so dull looking since there regular bulbs? Or where can I get those scoops that replace the fog light's completely?

Currently there are no HID kits that will work. Your options are: Brighter bulb (might melt housing), honda accord fog lights (have to dremel and make them fit), 2003 CL inserts (check the BM or your acura dealership)

3.)What model does the blackout grill come on I really like that instead of the dark gray and chrome one that's on there?

2003 CL

4.)What's the differences between my car the non type s and the type s not appearance wise im talking engine differences

Non-type s (premium) - 225 HP, 216 ft-lbs. of torque, max HP is at 5,600 RPM, max torque at 4,700 RPM

Type s - 260 HP, 232 ft-lbs. of torque, max HP is at 6,100 RPM, max torque at 3,500 RPM

also i think that there was a difference in turning circle, but im not sure.

5. What's a good brand for carbon fiber hood and trunk for our car's?

I havent looked into this but i've seen members with VIS and the posts above say VIS

6.I have 96,xxx miles right now when should I replace the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner? I was thinking around 105,000 miles

Timing belt, Spark plugs, Antifreeze need to be changed at 105,000 like you said

7. I have a few more questions but I don't know if I should make separate threads or not lol?

I say throw them in here, i mean the thread is already started.

I forgot to mention that the type s exhaust flows more freely (is that a word) and it has a dual stage intake manifold which is the reason it has more power
