damn that is hot. What are those engine specs when converted to HP and lb-ft? Do you have any pics of the interior? My brother is looking at trading his 540i for a M5 but I may have to tell him to take alook at this one. What is the release date?

Thats a fuckin' sexy car. At a glance, I'd take that over an M3 anyday(I know they aren't on the same comparo level). Over an M5? It'd be a close call.

Audi of America, Inc. Announces Dynamic New RS6 Sports Car - An Extraordinary 450-Horsepower Five-Passenger Sedan
NEW YORK - Audi of America, Inc. today announced a new product addition designed especially for the fast lane: the RS6 - a limited-edition powerhouse from the company that built its name on performance.
Audi founder August Horch won the incredible Austrian Alpine Run in 1911. More than 90 years later, Audi continues to excel on and off the track, with back-to-back wins at LeMans and the introduction of the spirited Audi "S" models: the S8, S6 Avant, S4 and S4 Avant.
The RS6 is the newest high-performance sedan from Audi. This ultra high performer features an extraordinary 450 horsepower at 6,500 revolutions per minute, making it a world-class sedan with the heart of a sports car. Developed by quattro GmbH (a subsidiary of Audi AG) from the popular Audi A6 sedan, the high-powered five-passenger RS6 is destined to be the leader of performance sedans.
With a bi-turbo, 4.2-liter V8 engine, the Audi RS6 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds, and has an electronically governed top speed of 155 mph. Twin turbochargers, twin pressure-loss optimized intercoolers and five valves per cylinder help develop 415 lb.-ft. of peak torque across a broad range of 1,950 to 5,600 rpm.
The RS6 is the first Audi equipped with an innovative, new suspension concept called Dynamic Ride Control (DRC). This active suspension employs shock absorbers that are diagonally connected hydraulically to dampen and counteract movement along the longitudinal and transverse axes. DRC helps to virtually eliminate vehicle roll and pitch during active cornering maneuvers.
A Dynamic Damping Control system adds to the ride and handling characteristics of the RS6, while driving performance is enhanced by a 25-millimeter lower suspension with firmer shocks, springs and stabilizers as compared to the A6. The Electronic Stabilization Program (ESP®) 5.7 with Brake Assist and Brembo® 8-piston brake calipers - painted red with a silver RS6 logo - ensure control and stopping performance.
Legendary Audi quattro® IV all-wheel drive, Tiptronic® five-speed automatic transmission with new paddle shift controls, and new 9-spoke 8.5" X 18" RS alloy wheels with 255/40ZR18 high-performance tires, all contribute to the excellent performance of the RS6.
In Audi tradition, the RS6 sports unique visual cues as compared to its A6 brethren. In addition to subtle badging, there are revised front and rear aprons. The unique front bumper incorporates three, larger air inlets and integrated fog lights, and the radiator grille sports a diamond pattern. A unique rear bumper with new apron and diamond grille pattern is accented with new, larger, dual exhaust tips, while the rear decklid is topped with a spoiler lip.
Like the renowned RS4, the RS6 features matte-aluminum mirror housings and side window trim. The RS6 also sports new exterior colors, including: Avus Silver, Misano Red, Ebony Pearl, Goodwood Green, Daytona Gray and Mugello Blue.
Inside the RS6, two color schemes are available: Black or Silver, similar to the recently introduced, stunning S6 Avant. Fine nappa leather upholstery includes heated front and rear Sport seats with the RS6 logo embossed in the headrest. Door sill trim also features the RS6 logo.
The instrument panel houses a unique RS design instrument cluster behind the three-spoke sport steering wheel with new paddle controls for the Tiptronic function. The steering wheel also carries the RS6 logo and, along with the shift knob, is covered in perforated leather. The shifter surround plate is matte-finish aluminum, while the remainder of the interior trim is Gray Poplar wood.
Other standard amenities include: a Bose® sound system with Symphony II Radio, tire pressure monitoring system, front and rear Parktronic™, Xenon Plus headlights, automatic headlight washers, Servotronic®, power sunroof, memory function for front seats and mirrors, power adjustable steering column, dimming interior mirror, dimming and folding heated exterior mirrors with memory, HomeLink® remote transmitter, and a split-fold rear seat with armrest and pass-through ski sack.
A Warm Weather Package, including solar sunroof, power rear and manual side shades, is optional on the RS6, as are: the Audi Navigation System, Audi Telematics by OnStar®, a digital cellular telephone, rear side airbags, and carbon fiber interior trim.
The RS6 is scheduled to arrive in showrooms in Spring 2003. Approximately 850 units will be available.

The number was originally 860, but they increased that number to 990......so the chances of someone getting one are greater.

2 words, twin turbo. I hope they make a coup version. Big improvement from audi still for the projected 80k price tag and limited number makes it unrealistic to get. My dream car is still the 911 twin turbo.
