My dealer told me he got burned by ordering me a 6 speed Agean blue with nav
and I didnt take it. He says this is a dog combination and could never sell it...WTF????
I thought this was the hottest one going.......

Yeah, you're dealer was feeding you a line to try and guilt you into buying the car. Exactly what part of the combination does he consider a "dog"?
The aegean blue? Personally, that would have been my 2nd choice after silver. Unfortunately, coming from a navy blue car before this one I know how hard it is to keep looking clean when driving the amount of miles I do per day.
The 6-speed? Acura is only making, what, 2700 of these this year? As far as I know, people were having a difficult time of getting their hands on one. That would make the car MORE desireable, not less.
Gotta love dealers and all of their BS.

Sounds like a load of Crap to me...
They will easily be able to sell the car in a hurry if you don't take it.
The really fvcked up thing is they will screw over some other customer telling the an Aegan Blue 6spd Navi is a RARE combo, and that they have to charge them a Market adj. premiun on it..

Aegean Blue with nav was my second choice to Black.

Well...with my personal dealer and sales person (that I talk to quite frequently...quite honest IMO too...no Bsing) always did say that for every car...there will always be an ass for every seat.
The 2 colors that were hardest to sell was the green and gold. But...eventually there WILL be someone who's willing to pay for them. They had a gold one in the lot that he thought would be there for a year...but all it took was for a money pinching old couple that wanted the CHEAPEST possible deal for them to drive it off the lot.
If you can push green and gold combos out the door...you can sell ANYTHING. :P

my buddy at Valencia Acura said they may make 3500 manuals this year, not the projected 3500, since additional dealers have placed new orders for the MT.

Here's another way to play this.
Now, this assumes that you would reconsider buying this color/option combo.
Use it as a negotiating point. Tell him you didn't realize how much of a dog it would be to sell and you would do right by him and take it off of his hands for $3000 less than whatever he was originally going to give it to you for.
Basically, he is BS'ing so call him on it. You may get a good deal, but more likely he'll stop giving you a hard time about it because you called his bluff.

What pisses me off the most is that hte dealer ASSUMES they have my business and all of my referrals.
This needs to be earned.......

Just look at the new cl commercials, what color is it they show? Yes my friends, it's Aegean Blue. It almost goes without saying the mfr showcases most, the color they think looks best on the car. Tell the dealer to kiss off (or any variation thereof) and get the color/combo you want. WTF!!

Maybe the problem is that they don't sell too many 6 speeds with the navigation system? Its probably salesman BS but how many out there (besides Shawn) want a 6 speed with Navi?

They can’t actually “order” the car, but they can allocate which cars (colors/options) they will get to a limited extent.
If they can’t get what they want for a customer right away, they can swap deliveries with other local dealers.

HAHAHAHAHa.....man...i read throught the first page wondering why someone said they were making 3500 this year....then i looked at the post date....damn uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.......got me......well that was a good waste of 10 minutes...now for 2 more hours before i leave work and look at this again at home...lol
