My CT spring broke!!!

Sooooooooo, I take the whip in today to have the new MX's installed, which look great by the way and the service mgr tells me my right rear CT spring is "cracked all the way through." He said the break is "obvious" because of its size and says I can drive it home but get a new spring. Question: has anyone else had this problem and will CT replace the spring? Now will I have to pay for replacement or will CT? This is really pissin' me off!!!

Right off their website.

"Comptech USA - All products manufactured by Comptech USA are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from date of original purchase. This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser and is not transferable."

A broken spring I've never heard of on any vehicle. Did you look at it yourself? Were they installed right in the first place?

Yeah, I'm sure they were installed right, my Acura store is great having won a number of awards. I would never expect a car's spring to break that never gets beat on, not even in the slightest. You would think this would be something that would outlive my car that's why I'm so ticked. How do you install a spring wrong anyways? And haven't looked at it myself, will do later and post pix.

My comptech spring cracked too. I bought two new front springs. Comptech said they'd refund me the money after I send the cracked spring back. I never sent it I didn't feel like going through the trouble.

it happens, not everything is bullit proof. And it's kind of hard to install springs wrong but it can happen, the most common is putting it in upside down, while it won't cause serious damage it won't sit on the strut right. Also sometimes people don't line them up on the strut right even when installed the right way. It's hard to screw up, but it happens.

Is it true the comptech springs are really Eibach's in disguise?

Now when I talk to my ahem, better half, she sez put the old springs back on b/c she hates the ride quality anyways!!! I don't wanna do it really. WTF, she's got the 330 I bought her if she wants a plush ride! Gotta research this, haven't even started yet.

Putting konis on will bring the ride quality close to stock again on the softest setting (out of the box).

I know they made the first few rounds (or atlesat pretty sure). Eibach makes springs for a majority of springs out there. COmptech gave them their own specs
