My CL's Midlife crisis, Kandy apple red paint next!!!!
Just got back from Steve's guy (withoutcomp) and he seems real good. Gonna do a whole lot of stuff and keep the CL rather than trade to a TL type S. I drove the new TL a bunch of times and can't compare it to the interior and comfort of the CL. there's something I am just in love with about the CL.
here's what I'm doing, any suggestions would be great:
Exterior:
-Mold front lip entirely, no seam.
-mold sideskirts entirely, no seam.
-mold rear lip entirely, no seam.
-Paint whole car Kandy brandywine red.
-Shave door handles.
-remove rear spoiler and replace with molded rear lip supplied.
-fill two holes on trunk lid.
-Have headlight housings sprayed same color as car.
-Have tailights slightly tinted.
-New wheels with red accents in sides of spoke. or full polished setup.
-chrome molding added to lower vent opening.
-tint fog lights blue, replace with hyper white bulb.
Interior:
-Dark grey Suade dash.
-Reuppolstered seat covers in BMW red leatherette (for durability).
-Momo Steering wheel.
-Flat dash kit painted to match exterior paint (extra durable clear applied)
Mechanical:
-weld headers.
-replace spark plugs.
-replace 02sensors.
-replace cat.
-tune up.
-align exhaust
-camber kit. Ball joint replacement.
-new brake pds (less brake dust)
-solve running rich problem.

It was either that, or battleship grey, which would look pretty good in it's own right.

My car is actually there now...i dont know if you seen it. Its a black-cl with Pa plates with limo tint. Yeah i saw that Escalade there and it still looks good even though it was totaled. Unfortunately i cant afford a 5,000+ paintjob lol....so i'm just gonna have my whole car repainted black...i am actually heading out there tommorow to drop off my fogs...i dunno i was thinking of not changing the color of the car....but maybe adding some type of different color pearl to the paint...any suggestions anyone?

Yeah, he mentioned your car, but i didn't see it, I spent so much time looking thru the House of kolor book, lol. I think you should do something non-OEm if you are getting a complete paint job, unless you plan on selling the car soon. What did you think of the Escalade paint color? I really liked it, but was wondering about maybe a flip flop paint color. maybe Blurple.

yeah, it's a blue and purple flip flop paint, this is a really hard decision. I just thought of doing a slight widebody by having universal fender flares molded and having carbonfiber slpitters added, really subtle.
Now I am down to 3 colors:
1.) Battleship grey, no metallic flake, just like the lambo LP640 paint.
2.) Kandy Brandywine, liek a slightly darker version of a rich Kandy apple.
3.) and Blurple, a flip flop blue and purple paint.
maybe i should start a poll. I just want it to look shockingly good and non-OEM especially if I'm gonna dish out this kind of dough.

My choice would be the kandy color mainly cause I love any Kandy color
You sure you want red accents on the wheels and red headlights? That might be too much red going on. I would stick with the black 03 housings

NO on the Lambo color- it does look like primer.
My says no on Blurple- I just saw a 2006 Z06 Vette with that paint and it didn't look right. The paint job was excellent, but the rounded panels don't look right. Blurple looks best on street rods.
Definately a Kandy color.
Saw the Imola Orange at the Detroit Auto show on all the Saleen Cars- the paint looked like it was 3' thick. This would be my choice, then set it off with black wheels.
House of Kolor definately has the best colors!

i've never really seen any lambo's in that color...usually its the bright green and orange (which can be a thought)
that lambo (marcealargo....spell check) orange would be a hot cl color too....real different....dont think you can pull off the neon green too well tho...just another suggestion...

"if it was me, i'd want to make the car look a bit more sleeperish... maybe you know something like cement block grey"

i kind of liked the battleship but compared to the other colors i would put it last...and looking at it on the lambo makes me not like it even more...that lambo would be so much hotter if it was red black and yello even....the color just looks like its missing something.....
how bout chalkboard black...then you can draw a different design on it everyday...lol...j/k
