My car goes phsssssssshhhhh now (sneak peak) inside!

1st Custom Comptech Supercharger Ait to Air Intercooled CL Type S....... spec's and performance dyno print out soon and I will post a sample video and audio of the car . lets say blower is much cooler now..... .....

Don't know the gains yet with the Air to Air set up.. I went ahead and did it mainly for show to fill in my front bumper since its so dam big.... so hopefully it will perform as good as I think it will intercooled. Also did a HKS BOV for the pshshhshshh effect (lol) ..... the car still need some minor tunning and tweaks, it will be dynoed after the Philadelphia Auto Show....(Feb 15th)

Work perform by Andy Wagnor @ Wagnor Motorsports

Just FYI, you probably won't get any sound from the BOV as it is post throttle. If the SC's bypass valve is intact the BOV would never get a signal to open as both sides are at the same pressure.

It looks good as I know it is for show. Just don't be expecting decent throttle response.

we are currently working on relocating the BOV, you are correct ...... as far as the throttle response we have not run into that issue yet.... I will keep you guys posted .........

There really isn't any place to put it for it to work in a conventional manner. A BOV is there to prevent compressor surge; the equalization of pressure after the throttle is closed which backs up through a centrifugal compressor (either a turbo or centrifugal SC). These compressors are installed before the throttle body.

The roots style blower, such as the Comptech SC, is installed after the throttle body. Once the throttle is closed there is no more source for the blower to make boost and you imediately have a vacuum. There is no longer any boost in the intake tract which needs to equalize negating the need for a BOV. The only reason the bypass valve is in the SC case is not for compressor surge, etc. It is only to allow smoother operation and to increase efficiency when off boost.

IMO, and please don't take this as a knock against you, but this is very basic and a shop doing this type of work should know this.

As for a decrease in throttle response, it will be there. If you calculate the total volume of the air/air system you will be able to calculate the now increased throttle response. There is a reason why no OEMs install an air/air system when a roots style SC is used. This includes Mercedes, Jaguar, Ford, etc.

It's an 03, purchased the car back in summer of 02 been in the shop for over a year. Just hit 20k after I drove it to and back from Atlanta GA, (Nopi Nationals) ... I try not to trailer my car around, I should but I have way too much money into the car not to be able to drive it around and enjoy the car.

Lots of respect because of this... I was amazed when you drove down to the MD meet. Too sick of a ride to keep garaged and under wraps.

hahah, I was planing to get a used X5 or a used Porsche cayanne... but came across my old manager that I use to work for at a Audi dealer. Now he's a GM at a Toyota Dealer and he gave me the 4runner below invoice + the 4runner have a towing capacity of 5000lbs... thats what I needed to pull my jet ski and maybe my CL if I have to, so for what I needed it for it was plenty for me and the price was great so I didn't have to finance it... I will post pic's soon of the car once it's not shitty out........pretty upset that I didnt get a X5 or a Porsche but I got a pretty good car overall.... lets see how long I will keep this one

Carl WTF when are you going to make a trip to the East? (lol)

will keep you posted bro!
