i don't know if it is normal, but my AEM cai(for clp) is making annoying noise. when i start the car it makes a loud hiss. and when i turn it off, it is even more louder. it is so loud and it is embarassing! it sounds fine when i'm driving.

is this normal? please help.

mine isn't cls.. well if this is normal i don't know how i'm going to live with this.. my car sounds like a car with a big problem.. maybe i'm over reacting, you guys have these noise too?

My car makes the same sound since day 1, I think this is normal to all CAI.

Its perfectly normal. I've had the same noise since the day I installed my AEM. It is loudest when I startup and the engine is cold .. it hisses like a sonofabitch. once the engine warms up its alot quieter .. but you always hear it hiss for a second or two when the A\C cycles on and off. and it lets out the air when you shut the car off. I've gotten used to it, actually I kinda like it. Small price to pay for the sounds it makes in VTEC

Now if you have thre bypass valve and your hear hissing this is out of the ordinary. Check that focker and make sure it's not broken... (cracked inner shell)

Mine was a extremly loud vacum sound, on my 2.3 when i first got it but once i broke it in it is not as loud. But mine is also an INJEN CAI. But I think it is cool as hell. Even some of the peps that i ran against thought there was somethng wrong with my ride and thought it would be an easy win until we took off and then the VTEC kicked in and it got louder. I enjoy it.

Yep buddy, this is normal. Sounds awesome in VTEC. make swoosh noise when you turn it off. Makes a "sss" noise anytime you turn the wheel, turn on the exterior lights, and if you have an auto if you are at a dead stop and start to take off but then abruptly take your foot off the gas you will hear it.

Just ignore it. That's why these types of upgrades do not come on the vehicle stock--too many people whine and complain about the noise (What's that noise, the motor is loud, I don't like that sound etc).

Enjoy listening to the VTEC now...
