my 3rd time to 1/4 mile track...

went to Fontana sat. got 3 ran. all crappy launches.

first up, against a 6.0 GTO slicks I/E

second, VS TA WS6 unknown mods (typo on photo )

third VS CRX on slicks (unknown mod)

best 60ft---- 2.298 sec temp maybe around 85-90 F
best ET ----- 13.617 sec temp maybe around 85-90 F
best trap --- 110.99MPH temp maybe around 70-75 F

summary:
no CL on site repping, saw one 3rd gen TL that's it. people complained about their launches, that made me believe i don't suck , it was a jungle free for all type of run was given

Jesus christ you need to learn how to launch that thing. You should be dipping into the 12s.

I hate to burst your bubble but I saw time slips of the LS4 equipped Monte Carlo running the 1/4 in 13.6X sec at 106.XX mph with with just intake, pcm and exhaust. That GTO driver must have been really bad. You car seems to run really strong on the top end with your 1/4 mile speeds that you posted. I bet it is still pulling hard at 110 mph. Nice runs!

lol. thanks

didn't really want to make a thread and post this cause i know the numbers wasnt' up to par on this type of set-up and quite frankly i'm a little embarassed by it

But the thing is, i'm new to this "legal drag racing sceen" and it's different than just gunning your car on the street. Many factors has to be given consideration when you race your car on the strip (car set-up, track prep, weather, etc...)

i've gone to 3 track so far, the other 2 was Irwindale 1/8 mile (which i do good everytime) and LACR 1/4 mile which is 2000' ASL and the track prep was always rediculously crappy which i ran my car with hard as a rock RA1 toyo tires (just ask Socal peeps).

my main reason of posting this, is to show how high my trap was considering how warm was the weather that day my

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe Mrsteve trap 109 mph in his SCed CL-S before which is remarkable and that was many years ago. So i think there's still more room for improvement on SCed J32A2 engine...

Hey don't be so hard on yourself, they might not be the best numbers, but at least you're out there trying...i've never been to the track so you've got one up on me. I'm sure you'll get better traps with a little more practice and experience. Either way, your car's sick! Thanks for posting the numbers.

because he ran a 13.7, the only number that really matters. we aren't talking about roll racing here

b. you dont realize you could have bought a stock ls1 camaro/trans am, ran the same time except weighed 1000 lbs more while having less power!!!!!!! hahahhahahahhahahhaha

thanks for posting... no one ever post 1/4 mile times on here anymore.. 13.6 seems slow for 346 whp but it was hot. Third gear must be a beast on that thing it seems lik that is where your car really starts to pull

wow! really? I think i mentioned i'm an inexperience drag racer? launching a 340whp FWD car isn't easy when you can't get traction butthead! If i get 1.6 off the line what do you think will my ET's gonna be? Yah, low 12's! ET is not all it matters, dumbass

why would i do that if my car is fully paid off 4 years ago and still beat (or keep up) with those cars on daily? 300 plus RWD could easily get good traction than a FWD on a the strip with many options on DR tires, there now you know...

ya, maybe a Ford Lightning is towing it so you gonna come up with that BS too like all the thread and post you put on this site

here's an example to you:

so, you're telling me that a stock Evo that put down 1.6/60 12.8@99mph will always beat a stock C6 Z06 Corvette on the street/freeway with the same 12.8@109mph and a 2.2/60? if you base your driving life on a strip i suggest you look for a psychologist

If the C6 Z06 Corvette can hook up and get the same 60 foot as the Evo you think the C6 would run the same ET? Wow, i think you need to go back to driving school bra...

Drag racing a FWD car is MUCH different than a RWD/AWD car. There is no weight transfer to the drive wheels and, as a result, a reduction in traction upon accelerating. I think that after 280whp or so on these cars you really start seeing a point of diminishing returns. A set of drag radials would absolutely get you into the 12's with that trap speed. It's all in the launch. My current car best is only 12.8 and that is with a trap speed of 116. That SHOULD easily be good for low 12's with traction but, alas, it hasn't happened yet.

well you could get worse traction with a rwd car than a fwd 300+whp car, if they were really really really bad driver... probably someone who looks like the guy in the mirror huh buddy?

ahhh i see, that's why you got out and bought an AWD cause you can't get good times on your FWD CL on a drag strip... Way to go smart guy, that's just to show people that you are really living your life "a quarter mile at a time"

comparing your time on 1/8 mile VS my time, your car will get owned... not everyday that you'll see me gonna be driving bad tho...

on the street i bet you a gran your car will not beat my car ... i maybe inexperience on the track but not out there...

He either can't drive or gave up on the run. I trapped a consistent 104-105 when my GTO ('06 LS2 M6) was bone stock. Now with CAI, headers and tune, I run mid 12s at 111-112.

SIRSIG, you have a very nice trap speed. Get thata 60ft down and 12s are yours

you're comments dont bother me at all, i was stating that you suck at driving (which you obviously do) and all i pointed out was that i have a close to stock daily driver thats quicker than your car with 150 less whp (no big deal)

also i never claimed i'd beat you in a race on the street so dont get all cocky on me now! i am fully aware that you would, so i hope that makes you feel better.. the reason i have AWD is because it snows here and i dont want 2 cars, i also wanted a more competitive AUTOX car that was friendly to cheap mods..

all in all your car makes a lot of power for a v6 honda, thats it.

There's no reason why Shiney's original comment should have lead to any of this. I think we can all agree that there were some issues that need to be looked over for a better and more accurate 1/4 time that can be made with this car.

I am not here to talk smack as I made a run with my CL and ran a 16.6 @ 98mph. I can give you the list of reasons that have lead to that, but in the end, I still ran a 16.6.

Shiney has had plenty more track experince than most of us combined. I would not go about saying he is inexperienced or doesn't know what he is talking about.

you don't really have to, cause i already told everybody that i don't have enough experience specially on that track which make the fact that all track aren't prep equal. I guess i have to swap a CR-V "AWD" drivetrain in order to get to 12's

i dunno but showing off your timeslip is like an invitation to me. anyway, 2 different cars performs differently...

which exactly my reason on putting up this thread. Just happy to show my trap on a quarter mile cause as everyone know, that's where you find horsepower... I wish i could get good traction though...

actually you find impressive hp with a dyno, which you've done. don't embarrass yourself with your track times..

/end thread

sorry if you thought i was being cocky by posting my time slip, just showing what a sub 200whp car can do with a crappy driver

13.297@104.95 was my best bone-stock run in the GTO. IT was new an still had OEM street tires and air filter it came off the showroom floor with. My first trip to the track I could not even break into the 13s... It was embarrassing trapping 104 and having an ET of 14.1 My next trip I learned how to launch better and ran 13s all day.

The only time I ever took my '01 CL to the track (bone stock) I ran a 14.71@98. I always thought that was a very descent time for a car with the luxuries it had
