My 1st race and kill - S2000
we were both at a red light, the road ahead turns to 1 lane about 400 yards. I am in the left lane, and he pulls up on the right (the lane that ends). I inch up, he inches up. The light turns green, we leave all the cars behind us in the dust, I am red lined in second, and it sounded like his engine was red lined too, we were both screaming. I had a half car length on him the whole time. After about 300 yards, I had the clear advantage so he had to retreat! Felt great, all this was possible b/c the wife was not in the car
I'm not taking anything away from your kill because you won...that was a good job. If the guy who was driving the S2000 launched correctly, he would have popped the clutch at about 7000 RPM's burning some rubber at that point. Even through he has shitty torque, he would have caught you because of a better power to weight ratio. You were the better driver! The VTEC doesn't work in the S2000 till it reaches over 6000 RPM's and Red Line comes at 9000. GOOD KILL!
correction, redlining actually comes at 9200rpm, and there is no offense to the 6spd CL-S whatsoever, but I believe with a correct driver the race would not have ended the way that it did. I do on the other hand congratulate you on your driving skills. Nice kill.

s2000 guys are not going to launch at 7000k at every stoplight so the advantage definitely went to maybere. Obviously at the strip its different but on the street I think the advantage will usually go to the CLS6...unelss you run into that guy who doesn't mind a new clutch every few months!
Good Kill!

umm I wouldn't say that the car has no speed untill 6k rpm, it is still pretty quick for a car with no torque, BEFORE v-tec. Then again, my finger weigs close to the same amount as mym s2k.
