Here's two more videos of the same race from different angles. This one was against the srt-4 the first time. If I had a full bottle it would of been a totally different race lol enjoy.

1st race against just the srt-4 40-120mph. You can hear I slightly spun in 2nd gear. Not as bad as it usually does though.

Lol it's only a baby 75 shot on there no worries. I have the kit a little jetted on the rich side for what size shot I have. I also checked the plugs multiple times after spraying and they look great!

Lol yes it looks tough!

I was only meaning that because I've always ran way larger shots in the past on my other cars. I had a 200 shot on my drag mustang and lincoln mark 7. I also had a 125 shot on a v6 mustang I owned for a little that I daily drove. Actually the nitrous kit on my cl is the one I used on all those cars over the years lol.

Shit my pops has a nos big shot kit on his 86 monte carlo it's adjustable between 200-400 shot. So in my eyes yes a 75 shot is small. I've been messing with nitrous for years, I blew a couple sets of head gaskets but never blew up a engine lol. Only because they were oem gaskets with stock head bolts. Wait till I up the shot to 125 on the cl then it will be a whole different animal. I'm not doing that until I have the wideband first, 1 step colder plugs, and walbro 255lph pump.

What's your guys thoughts on these drag wheels made by weld racing? They are on the cheap side compared to other drag wheels and I'm really considering buying a set.

Looks good. I don't see why they would be a problem. If you get em let us know how they work out on the CL.

The only bad part is I have to plan ahead because I will upgrading to a rl bbk in the future. I just want to make sure I get the right size wheels so I don't run into problems. The good thing is they make them in a lot of different sizes so I have many options. I think they will match the car very good and make it look tough when the drag wheel/tire setup is on!

It just sucks because no one has done it so it's harder to figure out the right specs.

I know man. It's hard to pioneer some things when alot of money is involved. I mean I was a guinea pig for a swapped TL for a while to figure out what worked and what didn't and I'm in balls deep, caught aids and have to live with it.

IMHO, depending on the timing, you should just do your drag runs first using the stock brakes. No sense in throwing the bbk on before you hit the track just to cause wear/tear on them by doing multiple 100mph+ stops. But if you plan to hit the track regularly in the CL then I see where you're going...

u technically go faster with the stock brakes too, cause they weigh less(i think) and the fact they're smaller(closer to the hub) helps the starts theoretically

The weight difference is negligible. The RL calipers are aluminum, I forget the exact weight though.

Yeah it all depends I doubt there's much differences in weight since one is a aluminum caliber and stock is steel. I most likely think I will buy the wheels first so I just want to plan ahead and make sure there's enough clearance for when I eventually do the rl bbk. I don't mind if I hit the track with stock brakes they are plenty enough. I just hate how easy they warp lol it drives me nuts. The good thing is my rotors are under a two year manufacturing warranty so they've already been replaced once in the one year I've owned the car for free.

Oh snap!! I'm not one to speculate (LOL) but I wouldn't go all that far. He has a fully built Type S 6MT approaching 400whp (though no numbers yet). He may still whooP ya lol

i got a rreally good idea ... how about alot less street racing videos which i cant watch at work anyways and get the thing to the track ... where regaurdless of how fast your car is or you think it is ... it will likely take many passes to actually get it to do what its capable of ...that or be like my friend with his 10 second bike that just came back with an 11.8 @ 115 surprise surprise after 4 hole passes ever ...
you'll find out when your hearts racing at the tree

haha, very true. Weird how it's more pronounced at a track than on a street. Maybe because it's just you and the car, and 50+ people looking at you. I like that feeling though, what a rush...

Much easier to break axles on the track than on the street so I dont blame him for not going yet.

yea i seen a lot of my buddys flop on their first time with their new car. like super flop.. shoulda ran high 13s and ran 15s. not saying it'll happen but shit even my car only ran a 14.7 or something (can't remember, cause i was pissed off) with all my mods 229whp and 180something tq. granted the trans and tires could have been better but it took me 4 tries to get even that hideous time. wish u all the best OP but 9xs outta 10 you get a lower time than you expected even if it's conservative (from my experience at least)

Granted, but I dont think you had the amount of whp as he will at the track and even though he is trailer'ing the CL to the track it's not the type of thing you want to risk. He'll have 278whp(can't remember if that's the number or not) + a 75 shot and at the rate that OEM axles have been tanking around here lately, why not wait it (upgraded axles) out? Every CL isn't the same as crazy as that sounds.

I'm not going to the track until I have all this first or at least most of these things DSS axles, slicks, aem fic tuned, clutch masters stage 3 with aasco flywheel, and jet the nitrous kit to a 125 shot. I might get the itch to go before I get everything done on that list but who knows. I have six months to do this until I lose my bets.

You guys can doubt me all you want. The only thing that's different to me compared to the track vs street is it hooks better. I've been down the track plenty of times over the years in numerous cars and on motorcycles. Sounds like your boy sucks at riding his motorcycle because I had a bike that everyone sworn would only run low 10's and I went 9.6's-9.9's with a slow honda bike while still foot shifting lol!! Shit I ran 15.1 @ 92 when I went to Englishtown NJ a few years ago in my bone stock 02 cl-p!

I honestly don't think a few of you guys are grasping the concept of what I'm going to be doing exactly, you can't compare my car to what the typical cls6 runs or what other people have. Mark my words I will run these times whether its the first pass down the track or my tenth pass. Regardless I will do it. Just have patience guys the time will come soon. I'm just having fun with my car as it currently sits as of right now, nothing wrong with that.

Go to the track learn what the car is capable to run and start from there. 75 shot only. You need to learn how to launch this car. I've done it several times and trust me its not easy.

Its like i spoke with the guy @ race track he had brand new accord 6-6. He was talking how fast his car is and all that stuff. He said stock car runs 13.6-13.7. So i told hom lets find out my car runs low 14's.

I did 14.0 and he ran 15.4 and left the track without sayin a word. Yes i raced him.

got the same story ... few young kids gathered around there friends bone S2000 chit chatted ... told him ,if he can nail the launch he could probablly pull a 9.4 or so(1/8th mile ) ... theyre like oh its way faster than that ... i said may be ,told em i got 20$ if they beat 9.4 ... then told them they didnt have to beat me just the 9.4...we lined up ... i went 8.5xx they 9.6 paid me my 20 in all singles might even have been 4 quaters in there lol

^ gotta love paper racers. Just because a magazine says it can do it, by no means you are capable of pulling it off.

I've never been on the track or dyno'd my car but I'm curious what I might be putting down at the wheels.
The setup is AEM cai, ceramic coated comptech headers, xlr8 high flow cat, HKS super draggers, UR under drive pullys. It's a 01 Auto
