I say that i would still run stock axles with those slicks. I'd rather break an axle than transmission... I dont think it will handle that much of a grip.

if i could run a 13.8 @104 in my full weight TL on street tires then you can definitely run twelves with slicks and axles

Exactly. Just dont try a crazy launch the first couple of runs. I think you should ease into it. A crazy launch isn't needed immediately anyway since the purpose of the slicks are grip.

Lol you guys are too funny. Even if I did break the transmission beyond repair and I had to buy a new one trust me that wouldn't be breaking my bank account haha. That definitely would suck though.

As for going to the track without axles I would be pist if I only did one or two passes and broke a axles. I will ease into it and push it a little harder and harder to see how the car reacts. I definitely can't use a tire that big. I can always raise up the car if I plan on using a slick close to that size. I don't have a a lot of options at all when it comes to 17 inch slicks.

At least some of you believe in me! It definitely is possible.

The new updated list.

JBlueCLS6-$50
TheWeez-$20
INSPIRE 32V-$20
Richardparker-$5
Karanx7-$5

I agree, hopefully nothing breaks but it's all in how hard you come outta the hole..300whp is more than enough with a little weight reduction imo. Btw, I'm not far in CT and would def be in for a track day/watching your passes. Hopefully I figure my car by then too!

I hope so also. Yes that's why I'm pretty confident that the car can pull those et's. Sounds good to me, it all depends what track I go to and when I have those last few mods done.

Well I got the itch tonight to throw my nitrous kit on . I only setup the jet's to run about a 75 shot. I have to say WOW what a difference for not that large of a shot! Now I have even worse traction problems. I can cruise in 2nd gear at 40mph, stomp it then hit the juice and it will roast the tires. I will admit I do have some shitty tires on there so that's probably most of the cause. I also did a few 3rd gear pulls it feels a lot better now.

I still need to buy a walbro 255lph fuel pump, msd window switch to activate and deactivate the nitrous between a certain rpm window, and one step colder plugs then I will jet the kit for a 100 shot and finally a 125 shot. I also need to install my f.a.s.t. dual sensor wideband kit to keep a eye on the a/f's while spraying.

Here's a teaser cell phone pic I just took real fast, don't mind the dirty ass engine bay the pollen is crazy here right now lol.

YES!!!! I've been waiting forever for you to wire up the juice ! Few questions, you probably mentioned it, but are you on a stock clutch? Also what are you doing for a bottle heater and opener? And will you eventually be using a WOT switch rather than a button? Do you have a gauge? Looking forward to this a LOT

You guys are too funny that movie was a joke especially that part haha! I do have a automatic bottle heater and I have a gauge on the bottle real near the valve. I don't like using a micro switch, I'm going to stick with the button and get the rpm activated window switch.

As for the clutch it is completely stock so it's on the weak side. I did the ss clutch line, removed damper, and check valve recently so that did help. On the spray it slips slightly while power shifting fast but not normal shifting. That's probably one of the reasons I won't break anything drivetrain wise for now. It definitely can be swapped out soon.

And the opener? Or are you just keeping it open every time you take the car out?

What about custom traction bars? I think that would help the 60 ft times alot since that is the cl's weak point.

Lol, this was back in 2004. Actually I think my quickest was a 13.25 but I don't have that slip hosted. This is what I backed it up with though.

Ahh memories.

I never thought of doing custom traction bars good idea. I'll probably see how the car acts without them the oem way, that's always a option later down the road.

As for a remote bottle opener I don't have one. I actually have the bottle just sitting in the back seat at the moment so I can just crack it open by hand. I used to run it like that for a long time in my mustang.

My wheels came in today, I couldn't pass off on these since I got them for a steal! A couple do have slight handling blemishes but I didn't mind since the price was so good. Here's a teaser pic.

Fox, with a good launch I have no doubts you will hit a 12.5. Think about it guys, with full bolt ons untuned he made 270/230. Add even a 100 shot and you're looking at ~365/340 (usually from what I've seen the HP is slightly less but the TQ is a bit more than the rated shot). Reese made 280 and trapped 103-104. That's a good enough trap for 12s right there with a great launch. Once tuned on the FIC, I'd expect another 8-10whp peak with higher amounts in the midrange. So if you do no more 'go' mods, let's say 280/240, but with a much fatter powerband. I'd say you have a better shot at hitting 12.5 on spray than 12.9 on motor. I'd have to assume you'd trap around 109-110 on the spray, and ~104-105 on motor with the stock wheels. On a smaller tire (slick), I'd assume 112 on spray and 106ish on motor.

What size slicks were you planning on running? You will NOT run the traps in the top of 3rd. Stock gearing ends at ~92 in 3rd. Even with a taller tire I don't see it happening. You'd be much better off running a smaller slick and crossing the traps at the top of 4th as already stated. The gear ratios are long in these cars as is, making them shorter will greatly increase your chances of running 12s all motor.

I agree with some people here on porting your manifold. I see you have the plenums as well, nice choice. I'd say get the 09 TL manifold, but since you already have the plenums I'd say forget it. I'd also suggest doing the butterfly delete as well. I did it and although think I MAY have lost slight low end, there is dyno proof that it rids of the 'dip' when the butterflies would have opened around 4100RPM. There is a good 5whp gain in the midrange from it alone. Since you won't really be at low RPMs, I'd say do it.

That's plenty of time hopefully. Civicdrivr I need to talk to you about a few things concerning the axles. I went to lunch today with my friend that owns the shop, that did my exhaust. I pretty much agree with everything you say sonnick. I don't want to do any internal work at the moment though. Even if it's as easy as removing that butterfly and porting the runners. I want the car to be a true bolt on car as of right now.

I have some funny stories to tell you guys. I ran four different cars tonight. I don't feel like explaining everything right this minute since it's late but it was a good outcome!

Since when has boring the tb, and porting intake mean internal work?

If you want to be bolt-on only then a custom intake, custom header and custom exhaust isn't really just bolt-on. It requires welding.

Maybe my viewpoint is scewed.

.
103-104 is not good for 12's unless maybe a huge launch from an AWD car with like a 1.5/6 60 ... our car will take at minumum 108 mph to see 12's and allmotor ran 12.9 @111 in his turbo setup ....

fox how many passes have you made in this car ?

Isnt allmotor the one who put 12.9 in his sig, but after questioning him he stated that it was not a real time but what he expected his car can do. I am pretty sure that was him.
