MY 01 CL-S vs. WRX- inconclusive

I was driving down Hwy 26 in texas at night (no cops for miles) and I see this guy I know in his WRX. It is a stock manual, very nice lookin car. So we decide to race from the light, i knew he'd rape me from a dig but i wanted to run it anyway. The light turns green and we both punch it. As expected he jumbs ahead about 3 car lengths, but, surprisingly, high 2nd gear i pull right up next to him, but not pass him, 3 gear i slowly start to pull but a car pulled out right in front of me:angry: and i had to changed lanes fast...
then he tells me to follow him to the feeder off 114 and we go from a 40 mph roll, this time he didnt get a jump and we are neck and neck @ about 110, then a car pulled out in front of me again. so then we proceed to a 4 lane industrial road and start again from a 30 mph roll, and we were neck an neck until about 115 mph and we ran out of road. He told me he should have raped me and said he wanted to look at my engine. I bought my car supposedly stock, but he said there had been internal balance adjustments, and aparently this increases power slightly. so he sat in my passenger seat and timed my 0-60 and it clocked right around 5.3 every time. so i guess i got a bonus with my CL-s :bananahump:

That is about right, consider that the CL-S has a better top end(I know the dreaded 4th gear ratio) and consider the WRX is totally stock. I'm not surprised if you pull one from the top, but I'd watch out for the modded ones.. Especially the one with the big wing and big scoop..

Internal balance adjustments???
He must have been modded or your car is slow because you should have walk him hard from a roll.

They work in conjunction with the new disgronificator.

Your race was very similar to mine. Good job against him because they are fast. I raced a stock 2002 WRX 5-Speed vs my 03 Accord V6 Auto with intake. We went from 40MPH - 110MPH. It was dead even all the way till about 95MPH where I slowly started gaining and by 110MPH his front bumper was at my rear bumper. I knew off the line he would kill me so I am glad he wanted it from a roll. Don't be afraid of WRX's from a roll if you have a CL-S. See how more of you guys do against them. Just don't race from a stop so you don't end up like Spankin new CLS did (3 cars back)!

I'm thinking sarcasm but might look up the new disgronificator online to make sure....haha

I thought WRXs were nothing special from a roll so I would have expected you to walk him from a 30 or 40 mph roll. Oh and I agree that a 5.3 0-60 in a stock CLS (or even with headers) is BS.

yeah just so yall know, i'd like some information on balance adjustments, i dunno what they do for the engine really, the wrx dude is the car expert... however, the 5.3 was a stop watch time, unless he sucks ass with a stop watch, i assure that was my 0-60. but once again, i'd love to hear aboiut those balance adjustments, how they are made, and the kind of power theyll actually produce, and also, will they wreak havoc on our already shifty trannies? props if you can help. and what the hell is a disgronificator...:-p

There is no such (in a conventional way) thing as a balance adjustment which is similar to a disgronificator; a fake or imaginary item. You can balance an engine but that would not yield the power, or give the needed traction, required for you to run a 5.3 0 - 60 time.

In other words, the WRX guy is not an expert. He may have stringed a few terms together but is certainly not an expert.

you can get a 0-60 time tested? I wonder if they could verify that mine is slower than shit.

make sure you grease your muffler bearings before you mess around with the internal balancing.
