My @!%$^@! actuator is out again....

For the 3rd mutha !#@!%$! time  First time was a month after I got the car then again about 6 months later and now again maybe a year later. AND to top it all off I just called my acura dealer and the guy who I have dealt with since I had my 01 and went through ALL the trannys and other problems and then the crap with my 03 is NO LONGER THERE He kinda had a clue as to WTF was going on and would actually listen to me because I usually knew WTF was the problem. Now I have to bring the car is and I am SURE I will have to re explain WTF an actuator is and why I know its out! I am sure they don't have any other CL's on the lot to so I can show them what it should do.

So does any one know how much this part cost because I am almost at 40k so I am wondering with this track record if it goes and I am out of warrantee what would it cost?

How do you know the actuator is out? What do you look for? I'd like to know in case others have this same problem.

That sucks man. I’ve never had one fail. Even on two different CL-S’s.

I used to check my actuator from under the hood every few weeks by manually revving the engine, but I don’t have to do that any more.
Since I removed the Bypass Valve on the intake I can clearly HEAR the tone change when the actuator opens up about 1000 RPM before VTEC kicks in at 5-Grand.

Yeah I had a 01 cl-s for over a year and the actuator never went out...now this 03 has been 3 times! The first time was literally like one month after I got the car with nothing modded on it. I can tell almost as son as it happens...I can hear it with the intake or I can feel the lack of power. It fuken sucks...I am concerned when I have no warrantee what it will cost to fix if they wont for free! These are things I will ask them tomorrow once I go and RE EXPLAIN WTF is wrong. Who knows they might know about them by now...but they didn't the first time I went.

mine went out once and I knee right away. took it to the dealer and they didn't even know what I was talking about even when I showed them. didn't want a dealer to mess with the car if they couldn't catch on. so i took the car to PAA and they had it fixed in an hour. they even went as far as to take the part off of a new car and replace the new car's part when the ship ment arrived so I didn't have to wait. great service!
