New gen Mustang is a great looking car and easy to mod up. V6 is anemic, but you can have some fun with the V8. I'd own one for fun in a heart beat.

2001 era Taurus was a great highway car. Defintly not pretty, but mechanically it was bullet proof and incredibly comfortable after 4+ hours on the road.

Granted, I'm not a huge Mustangs whatsoever, I would gladly drive a GT500KR. I wouldn't call them a piece though. I would drive one over a Kia Rio anyday

I have nothing against Fords. My first car was a 05 F-150 Lariat and my dad had a 03 Explorer Sport Trac and they never gave us any problems whatsoever (except for the Sport Trac being a little goofy looking imo).

But yea the new Taurus...wow...I approve!

Hey hey hey, I like my dubs on my TL hahaha but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I don't think you can really compare a Acura TL which is considered a "luxury sedan" to a two door American muscle "sports car",even if it was just a V6. Now if the OP talked about him racing a Maxima, G35/37, IS350 or something comparable to the TL, then I would probably take this a little more seriously, but right now I'm having a good time laughing

 

I'm guessing the OP has a TL? He could have been in a Daewoo for all we know.

Three of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned have been Fords. I still own one of them; a 2001 Ranger pickup.

As for quality, last year serveral of their vehicles beat out Toyota in that department and the current Fusion beats a whole lot of cars, domestic and foreign. Personally, I'm glad that Ford has risen up like this and I hope they kick the butt of the foreign competition. But then, I'm an American.. that's how I should feel.

My pops has a Crown Vic with 230K on it, the Ford V8's are great engines. I'd get a Mustang V8 in a heartbeat.

wow, all I can say is wow, don't like mustangs either but this thread is pretty pointless....IMO I would buy a S2000 which is I-4 and rape any V6 mustange, but then again ford is known for their v8 mustangs, they need to stick with V8's, as they have trouble as it is putting up some real hp numbers out of a V8 but that's a whole different story...and to all you ford lovers this is just my own opinion, everyone has different feelings towards certain cars, so please dont take my opinions personal

Wow. It just keeps getting worse.

 

I would like to make it clear that I have no brand loyalty as such. I do have national loyalty because, like I said, I'm an American. But that doesn't mean I won't buy a foreign vehicle if it happens to satisfy my wants, needs, and desires at the time. After all, I own two 3G TL's. In other words, I would prefer to buy American, but I will buy what I want based upon what is available to meet my criteria.

the ford mustang is an american icon. the TL is a great car but there's no history behind it at all. ford is far from a shit company. the stuff they've been putting out recently is showing that they're making huge changes in their line up to be more competitive. this might explain why they're surviving more easily than GM and Chrysler.
