a mustang buffet

well i got a 5.0 early..and beat him bad a 9.2 to something that looked like it approached a 10...then i approached several 99+GT's to get them to run me...appearently they didnt seem to want any the track was not hooking well at all but i still managed a 9.204...the GT guys were saying they were spining even in third...the best i ahd heard from him was a 9.5 but the best i saw posted while watching them run was a 9.7...so finally i got this one guy that I/ve seen out there acouple times before he had come up earlier and asked how i was doing and that the last time he had seen me run(old setup) i was doing 9.4...i told him i just ran a 9.3 and that a couple weeks back a 9.1...now he's a 99+GT with H pipe or X cant remember which chip ,K&N,flowmasters, tires, headers, everything but engine, work.oh yea gears...
so we line up didnt get my best light .640 he gets the advantage...shifts into second and here i come ..its about dead even 3/4's down the trac,,k im about 500 rpms away from my shift and he just dissapears...he says he was spinning in third...i thought he missed third...he says he's gone 8.90 before ,and that it was a bad night...last race for me, i raced a guy thats there every week him and his wife usually, he had a passenger, a 99+GT auto K&N and flowmasters thats it....he gave me the best run 9.234 but i did redlight .498 damn close he ran a 9.4 we were beside eachother halfway down then i just started pullin...

That 99 GT driver needs some work......He had tons of mods and could barely pull on you. Then later in the night you ran a Vert Auto and he gave you a good run.

Friday here in NJ...

.502 light, 9.0 660'

.523 light, 9.0 660'

.6something ( I don't commit bad lights to memory), 9.0 660'

.7something light, 9.1 660'

.9ROFL light, spun and missed 2nd, 9.3 660'

and i found that all of my rear control arm bushings are shot...I'm thinking that's why my car slowed down..

14.1 - 14.2 1/4s all night, yuk

just wanted to share

Yeah, I agree. There are plenty of lightly modded stangs on stangnet running in the 13's. My first time to the track I ran a 14 flat at 99.5mph (stock except for catback exhaust which is basically a sound mod).

But I can understand how you beat most stangs...cause, I beat most I come across too! Many people aren't driving to the car's potential.

This is why I love my stang...its definitely not the fastest but...its the benchmark of having a fast car..."I beat a stang!" everybody wants to beat one...lol I love beating cocky entry level luxury guys who want to have it all but...aren't quite there yet. (330ci,s4,e36m3,xk8,cls:P ,a4,i30,sts,dts,e430,clk430 and more to come... everybody wants some!...I respect the guys who know they have a "nicer" car and leave the drag racing to the boys with the toys...otherwise, I'm happy to show them their cars' limitations)

If you're running a 13.9x you'll tie me. 13.8x or less you'll beat me... and yes borla exhaust and good tires are ALL I need for a 13.9.

Not sure how you'd "smoke me" unless you're 1/8 mile times translate to low-mid 13's in the quarter. Oh well, I don't want to argue it. Good job and nice mods.

here's and old time slip. It looks like you would beat me in the 1/8 if you're running less than 9sec. But thats before I got better tires. I'm pretty sure I can launch better now. Anyway, this discussion is rather pointless. Try and find a stock stang who has $$$ invested in rear tires (drag radials) and see how he runs. Tires are very important...I'm sure you know this.

LOL....you talk a lot of smack for not having an 8 second slip, ;et alone a full 13 sec pass.

Hell, you picked a bad slip for him and he still has your 1/8 topped. RT means nothing to me unless you are bracket racing. alomst all mine are 1.000ish as that gives me the best rhythm for cutting a good 60.

and that's the only slip he gave me access to ....now does 8.969 give me 13 in your eyes?...it's close for sure...but i looked at doug's slips from running another 3.5 and he went 9.19* to a 14.1
