Mugen T stat vs Ghetoo riggin?

So I heard from a friend of mine which he could rig the fan to stay on all the time?? So to my knowing a mugen stat turns on at around 80 degrees which cools down the engine so what the harm be if I rig the fan to stay on all the time? Should I use this method or should I waste money on a mugen T stat? Well im just wondering if anyone would chime in on my questions.

Spend the money and do it right. There's still power used to run the fan. The alternator can probably handle the constant load but it's not necessary.

Yea i know im being a cheapo but it shouldnt harm anything right? Plus fan running all the time, that should really benefit the car the fan running shouldnt lose much power but if the car is cool then no power is lost from excessive driving or aggressive driving.

You are thinking of the fan switch. The Tstat and that are two different things. The Tstat will open up completely (allowing more coolant to flow) before the stock one will, I think at 180 F. The fan switch is what turns on the fan earlier. I don’t know that you would benefit too much from having the fan running all the time if you have not already installed an aftermarket Tstat.

Don't waste your time. The CL will not benefit from that. If your going to do cooling mods do it right & buy /install what's recommended.

Neither of these mods will give you anything for normal driving.

Save your money.
