I have unoffically been put at the top of the nissan list for the houston area

Now before we get all flamey....this would be a nissan skyline, not a maxima or any other unworthy car to the cl ( i love our car)

My dad is friends with a friend that brother works at a nissan dealership and once the cose list is out....i am up on top of the waiting list for a "400 bhp 4.0 V8" skyline

That is one nice car....so as for nissans vs. CL's????? CL beats all nissans but a skiline

I don't think Nissan will release a Skyline, it will be out as a Infiniti model. Plus it has a totally redesigned engine for the US edition. I saw a picture a few weeks back... i wasn't really impressed.

I hate to kill you Nissan dreams, but I got the inside deal from the US distribution manager. The Skyline GTR will never be offered directly from Nissan. The GTR is the only big boy Nissan.

The new Z should be nice. I will be looking into one (after all the initial hype is over). It will go well with my 1978 280Z. Infiniti has the GS 350 (?) coming out.

What color is your 280Z and how many miles ya got on it? Is it stock? That fuel injected 2.8 liter in-line six was a really sweet mill back in the 70's. And the lines of the Z's, not the ZX's, were classic! (Of course, they sould be, Datsun stole the body style from Ferrari.)

For over eight years, I drove a de-emission-controlled, slightly-modded '74 260Z (red). You know, like the original 240Z with the funky SU look-alike side draft carbs? Any of you guyz remember Stebro exhausts? (Showing my age, eh?)

BTW, have you ever thought of racing your two cars aginst themselves? Ya know, your 280Z vs your CL-S through the "twisties"?

I miss my Z. I had a 1990 300ZX (base model) that had the Yellow Pearl color. I loved that car. Fast enough for me and the car handled great!! Then (like a fool) I traded it in for a Jeep Grand Cherokee (seemed like a good idea at the time...DOH!!!). I though about getting the new Z, but I really don't like the looks. I'm probably gonna end up in an NSX next.

It pisses the fuck out of me that we get the pussy Z and not the Skyline. OOoohh American people like big engines so lets stick a 3.5L VQ in instead of the superior 2.6L RB26DETT. The Z looks horrible, lacks ATESSA Pro, HICAS and a number of other unique Skyline engineering marvels. Fuck this pisses me off cause the Skyline is my dream car and it only costs 50 grand in Japan but through Motorex it costs 90k. Plus its not egible for California residents cause of the new legislation as a direct result of car manufactuer lobbying (namely Mercedes Benz). All I have to say is FUCK!

This is still be thoughtout the latest i have heard is that they switched it from the infiniti to nissan again, but then again this might change in the next 2 years with other companies realeasing their product lines.

Correct!! The redisgned engine for the US model is a 4 liter V8 400 bhp engine.

All i know is that the skyline that is in japen right now will come over to out side of the world within the next 3-5 years and it will have a redisgend engine and maybe other stuff sicne it is a long time from here to then, so anything could change.
