Gotta link to that?

The intercooler I am going to build will retain the factory upper intake manifold unlike the one Scalbert made. It will do the same thing however it will retain the IMRC etc...

Check out these... not sure if there's a way to make them fit but they're reliable.

http://www.pwr-performance.com/intercooler.htm

There's a fair amount of room between the bottom of the blower, the transmission, and the firewall to fab something.

That is what I began with on a prototype but just could not get it to fit right. 15 inches in length from the blower outlet to the TB was not feasible without some significant turns.

I am not sure if my design was ideal but in theory it seemed sound. The need for the IMRC was due to the stock manifold design; it was a variable volume design from the start. But with boost added, the simpler design on mine seemed to work on paper and in practice. There was less volume to fill as well as an oversized heat exchanger. But it wasn't pretty.

I thought it looked great! So did the people at my local Acura dealership. At times I wish I still had it and the car. I can't figure out a replacement.

I don't need a daily driver... I want a toy.

I used to like Smart cars. Then I can out of a Best Buy one night to see one parked sideways across TWO handicapped spots. Yes, it is possible to park a Smart forTwo across two spots. I will forever hate them for that.

Thanks for the link! Once again, sorry for the threadjack.

You could have the best of both worlds. Buy a Smart Car for the economy and buy a spare garage door opener for your Dad's garage. You could pull a Ferris Bueller with the Bimmer.

And sorry Jim for the

Don't need the economy... work gives me a vehicle to take home. Still thinking about what I want for the weekend. I'll probably wait until late fall/winter when prices on sports cars drop.

Yes, with the N54, 3.0L I6 Twin Turbo.

With the current modifications, it should make around 375 WHP on pump gas.

Whos package did you use for the mods? Is it just software? I have seen some great packages for that car with just software. Not that bad on the prices either.

Do you remember the exact diminsions of your intercooler core on the intake side and on the radiator side for the kit you made?

Thanks.

For your IC question:

Steve, would you agree that the core used in your design was a little undersized for this application? I know we're working with limited room but especially with the increased capacity of the MP90... I think it'd be wise to go bigger. Especially if he's reaching for 10psi.

The core was sized to support 600 HP or so.

Plus there should be less heat generated using the MP90 since it's more in it's sweet spot.

I am selling my MP62 in the black market and a new FIC-8.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...9#post11069109

I bought an OBDII scan tool today and have made a lot of progress. I will give a longer update soon with pics. I also found a problem with the engine harness I had made for the FIC-6. A resistor was not installed.

Thanks for all the great support in this endeavor, Jim

Yes, you can use it. I am going to figure out what my problem is but I do not think it is FIC hardware related but more or a tuner issue (acutally setting it up correctly for this car) along with some other things I will cover when I get it all straight, soon. I would not take my word for it though until I actually prove it will work without the use of the Comptech ESM, unless you just want to show me up.

Dont quote me but the word on the street is that even Boomslang has the wrong wiring schematic for the AEM FIC. Our ECM is quite sensitive and so is the FIC.
