Motor Mount Group Buy Poll
All Righty race fans,
I know that many of us are sick and tired of frequently busting our motors. As we know these POS were designed for the older 3.0 liter V6 Accord and carried over to the higher HP Accords, CLs and TLs.
Well, there is a solution and Excelerate has put together a group buy package for us of $250.00 for the front and rear set, IF we can get at least 10 people to commit.
At this price, I'M IN. $250 is about $40 more than the OEM ones, and a savings of about $50.00 buying them directly from the vendor.
Please idicate via the poll and your reply if you are in.
Background information:
In the recent motor mount post I learned that the following aftermarket mounts designed by Innovative Mounts will not only hold up to the power most of our cars are putting out. But most importantly, the stress of "spirited driving". These mounts will also reduce wheel hop, which will help your 0-60MPH, 0-60ft times at the track, which in turn will improve your overall 1/4 mile results. It'll all depend on what mods you have, but expect a 10th, possibly 2 10ths.
While there can be a slight increase in engine vibrations being carried through the chassis, steering wheel and pedals, it's should be slight and it's possible most won't even detect it. I've run solid steel motor mounts before, but with all the engine vibrations of a V8, it really didn't matter as the car shock regardless.
Here is a link to the thread with some comments from some of our pioneers (SIRSIG and Accord_V6_400m) in using these mounts. Note that I agree in recommending we use the "street" version. The exceptions would be the serious performance nuts out there and they may want one of the harder mounts.

Ok they look nice, yet they are still technically for the Accord right? I'm sure for $40 extra over OEM they are definitely worth it, they look capable in performance, but what guarantees do we have of high quality longevity?

I just want to add I have been dealing with Innovative for a couple years and they produce a great quality product. The quality of their polyurethane, the finish, the welding; it's all top notch. And their prices are competitive.
List on these 2 mounts is $300 plus it's about $20 to ship them so you're saving about $70 and it looks like $150 over the previous GB.

haha, FINALLY!! you guys better thank me for these mounts LOL. i was in the GB back in january, but was the lone 7th gen accord to order these, otherwise i dont think they would have bothered with them. ive been waiting 9 loooong months for them and tim said i can come get my set anytime.
i should have them installed this week, so i can give you guys my impression. my biggest fear is losing the comfy smooth feeling of my accord with having alot of vibration in the cabin. keep you guys posted.

Also, if you notice they make both billet and steel mounts, I'm willing to put my money on these steel mounts holding up to agressive daily driving and occasional track use. For those that are putting out a lot more HP, you might want to check with the company and see what they designed them for. I mean there are some Accords out there that are putting down a lot of power as well.
And, after reading Excelerate's post on the price, these will be about as much as new OEM ones will be after shipping.

What kind of power are you putting down? As for the vibrations, if you went with Red - 60A grade mounts, I'm betting you really won't notice that much, if anything at all. Idle will be the only time you might feel anything, but only if you turn the tunes down low.

right now im putting down 228hp/280tq and have gone through my fair share of motor mounts. the side mount you can actually fill in the top of it with poly and so far that one is holding up great. my front one is leaking and my rear one is totally torn in two places.
i dont know if im getting the red ones or not. i opted for the middle, which i think are the red iirc...

In reference to the questions about durability of the bushings here is some info from Innovatives' site:
Innovative Mounts has engineered a unique polyurethane bushing unlike no other. Our bushings are solid, will never wear or break, and come with a life time unconditional warranty. A key design decision in our bushings is that it makes minimal physical contact with the mounting bracket or chassis. The shape of the urethane bushing is tapered to prevent binding between the chassis and/or mounting bracket. This allows the urethane to gradually absorb engine movement and vibration.

[QUOTE=Silvaccordex01]
fsttyms1 confirmed that the rear mount on the manual IS different. I've asked Excelerate to check with Innovative Mounts and see what the story is. If they have a mount for it, and hopefully the price is the same, then we are good to go. If not, then we'll need to see what you 6speed guys want to do. Order just the front or do something else. Anyway, I hope this works out for all.

Does anything happen when we replace the hydralic filled F&R mounts that we currently have. Do we have to worry about fluid or remove the hard lines? I would like to jump in on this myself. I already have the engine dampner and that makes a world of difference so I can only imagine with these also
