Mothers Paint chip remover Available in stores?

Has anyone seen Mothers Paint chip repair at a store? Wanted to avoid paying 5 bucks shipping for a 10 dollar product.

Also anyone use this product? It sounds just as good as Langka.

U know, I think this stuff is just relabeled Langka, the bottle itself says 'With Langka technology'.

And as far as Pep Boys goes, I gave 'em a call and they didn't carry it.

What is paint chip remover?

If it is really a chip, hasnt the paint already been removed by a stone or something? I didnt think that you could make appear when it was no longer?

It's not called paint chip remover, its paint chip repair.

It helps to smooth out the blobs created when touching up paint, for a smoother surface.

CALIFORNIA GOLD® PAINT CHIP REPAIR

Let’s face it—no matter where you drive, chips happen. Rocks and road debris can pit your paint’s surface, creating unsightly marks and leaving your car vulnerable to rust and corrosion. Touch up paints can vastly improve the appearance of your vehicle, but tend to leave behind “blobs” of paint. Mothers®’ new Paint Chip Repair—used in conjunction with matching touch up paint—will remove those blobs, leaving the surface perfectly smooth and looking like new.

Those are the first two place i called, Neither of them said they had it. Although I am tempted to check Autozone, the employes at my closest store aren't very helpful and don't know much about thier products

I found a guy on Ebay selling it for 15 shipped, I think Ima go with him, good feedback rating too...

i am a bit confused........this paint chip repair is conjunct with touch-up paint brush that will cause blob paint, right? But what about the acura paint pen w/ clear coat sold by serf21? Will it also cause blob paint? If not, why not just use one product instead of using 2 product.

what this product does is, it removes the blob of paint left over from the touch-up paint....in essence, it levels it out...as for the touch-up pens, ive never used or seen the results, but if they do indeed leave a blob of paint over the scratch like touch-up paint does, then this product or langka(same product, diff name) will get rid of the blob

Yeah, Im in. Its worth a shot...

When I was a detailer at a dealer. I would actually use a needle to do my touchup. It wold take about 20 mins to do a chip, but it would come out almost perfect because it never blobed it on like a brush did. It took me about 100 dips into the bottle befor the chip was covered. The needle worked great because it has a very small tip, and you could work the paint around into the edges.

Let me ask this, never tried it, but... What if you were top blob it on, then work it down with a clay bar? Even a fine grit one? Woudl that work?

P.S. Mr Tosie is the V.P. of sales and he donated a bucket of MOTHERS products when we had that large meet at Park Ave. Acura in 02 and Pianoman had the winning ticket...

Interesting, this "technology" -how does it function? By eliminating blobs, before or after application of touch up? Maybe an additive to the touch up paint to reduce surface tension? An abrasive to be used after the touch up paint has dried maybe?

I will be following the progress of you fellows on this, I am interested in the outcome and utility of this item. Good luck, and if you could -drop the rest of us a note informing us of your results.

Mr. Tosie rocks the house.....he shipped a case today.

He is reading this thread fellas, so make sure you thank him and continue to support MOTHERS..... Although I use some other products I started out with Mothers products and now-a-days I still use their Carnuba wax to finish off my car..along with some of their other products.

Keep up the good work Mr. T., and thanks again for the goodies.
