damn, it would;ve looked more impressive if you just said viper, becuase the rt/10 isn't as fast as the newer ones, but still straight. what do you have done with your cl, becuase the viper still shoulda beaten you. unless he was crappy driver.

Nevermind the viper... all of those cars on the list would freaking cream him if he had the CL-S. Have you seen the E55? Freaking thing has gobs of torque AND horsepower and no wheel spin off the line, thanks to Mercedes "active handling". And a Z06? Those are all some awesome cars on the list. With the exception of the NSX. It looks good, handles great, but doesn't have much power. I wouldn't be surprised if a modded CL-S could take one out straight line. Open track of course, if a completely different story. =)

Is it just me or did that car take approximately 6-7 seconds to get to 60 mph? And it was not pulling too hard in 3rd gear...

I am not sure if that would be enough to beat corvettes and new M3s, by just looking at the video. No punt intended, but it sounded strong but looked weak...

You guys are knocking down solid low 13 second cars...

I dont know what a CL-S can do (never been in one) but some of those kills are out of the question for much faster cars... =)

C5 Vettes run low 13's stock... Go catch some of those...

not everybody can drive their cars to its full potential, the more power the more margain for error there is on launching and driving the car right

ya and i run mid 13's, so you've never seen anyone get left at the line? it's amazing how fast half-a-second is...like i said he ran me down at 80...but then again im not the average CL-S

No kidding.

I have another question... Are all of these exotic kills street kills? That puts all of these supposed kills into perspective... If you drag launch at a light with a c5 sitting next to you, (expecting an easy roll out) it WILL take him to 4rd gear to pull you in...

I have NEVER dumped my clutch at a street light when a race was on... Just about every race comes from an easy out (5-9mph) then a punch...

If someone pulled up next to me, revved and dumped their clutch at 3-4k rpms I would be laughing way to hard to race... =)

i think that this thread should be taken into perspective and that some these cars may have been caught off guard...but no my race went down like this... midnight..i see a c5 turn onto the raod i had just come off so i went down and turned around..i paced him for a while with the revs up holding 2nd knowing at this speed he would certainly kill me but hoping i could make it closer than he'd have thought for longer than expected...we catch a light...i roll out like you mention and hit it...he follows maybe not expecting to race but descided to give chase and he let off at 100 having not caught me...i in know way concider this a kill as he didnt start even with me. next light i know it's on and i do launch it i see him spin ,not smoke but squeel and he's a car back starts to make up ground but shifts full car again...starts to make up ground i shift then at about 80-90 goes by me by half-a-car, hard but shuts it down, as to say, that's all you needed, which is fine, i never expect to beat a c5 in the 1/4, but i know from experience they sometimes can be held off through the 1/8th
