More NA 6spd 1/4mi times......

At US41 Dragway in Morocco, IN......My mods were AEM CAI, CT headers, and Nitto 555R's. In my defense, track prep wasn't the greatest and the Nittos were bought on my way to the track; I was running them at 23psi and still ended up chirping 3rd gear on a few runs (I didn't believe it myself until the spotter told me after a few solo runs). Temps were at 77-78 deg. with average humidity. My slips are sitting at work, but my best ET was a 14.02 on a 2.2xx and my best mph was 100.78. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the car, and I'm confident that I'll hit 13.9x with more track prep and even better conditions.

What size Nitto's were you running and what was technique as far as warming the tires up?

Oh and props on the 14.0, thats damn quick.

I was on different rims to fit 245/45-17. I only did a small, 2-3 second burnout before each run by side-stepping the clutch at 3500-4000.

And you werent able to get lower than 2.2 60's? I am hoping for something in the 2.0's with my dr's, maybe I'm dreaming.

I did hit a 2.1xx twice (hit 14.06ish, very close to the PB), but like I said, the tires were brand new and I didn't heat cycle them as long as I should have.

Gotcha, just curious because like neally noone on here has ran drag radials. I got a line on some 225/45/17 BFG G-Force dr's for ~$200, so hopefully that plays out and I can get a ~14.2ish bone stock no engine mods.

The BFG DR's are supposed to be stickier that the Nitto 555R's, but I wanted to give the Nitto's a shot first, esp. since it was my first time using DR's on a FWD car.

I considered getting the 555's, but i dont want to buy a set of wheels for the strip, I wanna do it on the cheap. So I'm gonna use the stockers and just swap tires.

I'm dying for some heavy duty suspension and trans parts to be made for our CLs, watch how fast I roll out on a Hoosier QTP.

there are 3 6mt's around 400whp right now, so we'll see if they break any drivetrain/suspension parts.

scalbert is working on something to eliminate wheelhop.

Awesome times man. I have ran 14.0@100 (2.21 60 ft.) several times with AEM intake, Comptech headers, and stock tires. My best trap was 101 so we are right in line. Good luck hitting 13's.

Wow, great times!

I just ran at the track yesterday and the best I could get was 14.109@101.89. My best MPH was 102.86 on a 14.136 run. I wish I had a 6-spd This S/C would be so much happier.

Sweet times from all the 6spd guys! Trapping at 100+ is awesome. I'm close in my auto... 99.1 MPH... haven't been to the track since the UR pulleys and Mugen mods when on so we shall see...

it may be you guys.

it's hard not to spray.

but i would be stoked to be the first to run 13's n/a, and be the first j32 auto in the 12's.

but i would be satisfied w/ the latter, or teh former.

shit. i want them both. CHALLENGE!

If I break 14's with a stock 6 speed I'll be happy.

Too bad I'll ned about a 1.9 60' to do it. We'll see how these dr's like my CL-S.

edit: just so there's no confusion I dont expect to run 13's with only tires. I'd say 14.2 is a realistic goal. :blaze:

13's? been there done that ohbtw the nitto's dont help much in the launch, they just stopped me from spinning like crazy in my 1-2 shift. They give you a little at the launch but not much. I just wish they made slicks that fit 16's and the wheel wells so i could've dropped it at like 3,500
