More low end-midrange torque w/ the IC

I got a little curious the outher day about the IC. I decided to seal the front cover bolt holes, base plate and add a larger o-ring to seal up the temp. sensor (it's mounted next to the map sensor on the IC).

It's definately worth the time and trouble for you guys with the IC to look into. On the butt dyno the car pulls harder all over the rpm range, especially at the low and mid-range .

Note; be sure to not drop any of the front plate studs into the manifold, plug the intake ports with a rag or something.

Be sure to use a quality high temp Oxygen sensor safe RTV.

Not installed yet. I"m still waiting for the E-Manage and the heat exchangers.

Now time to get a Dyno, the car feels really strong . Not sure where the boost really kicks in, but I was seeing 6 psi at 4800 rpm. The car won't rev to redline in park, I was using a mechanics type compound gauge to check it out.

I'm hoping to install the E-Manage and tune it prior to the I/C install. I'm gonna see how much the non-I/C owners can pick up with just a little tuning.

thanks for the tip... I got some pretty large O-rings that I can wrap around that plate...

I do not want to seal it because I will want to check it from time to time and see if I have any leaks.

What about installing a sight plug or glass as an inspection hole?

Plexi-glass maybe.... installing a piece of glass there could be a bad idea... if it breaks you will dump pieces of glass into the runners....

I polished one of those face plates already and it looks like a mirror....and, I love it.

After thinking about it, the Plexi would probably have residue on it that would make it worthless anyway.

How difficult is it to polish aluminum? And to keep it polished? I've thought that the jack shaft on the SC would look better polished.

Did you find a place to dyno tune your car? I am interested in fine tune my car too. I found a couple of small vacuum leak but am not sure that will fixed the Check engine light.

I will recieve it this week. So as soon as the middle of next week. I've been working early latedly (getting off by 3pm) so heading to the dyno shop I use won't be a problem during the week.

sgmotoring, where were the vacuum leaks?

If the fuel regulator line was leaking, your engine can run lean and throw the O2 code.

I used thread sealant paste on the IAT and it sealed fine. I thought of making a seat for the o-ring to seat in better but that would have limited the thread depth.

Was there any noticeable vacuum loss; what was the vacuum at on a fully warmed engine with no major accessories running??

I didn't take a vacuum reading befor I sealed the IC. I used a thicker o-ring to seal the IAT. The problem with the erratic idle went away after that. I then decided to seal the cover plate stud threads and the base plate, the car really came alive after that !
