yep....if it is not cracked (ei accidence etc), then it should be underwarranty. The reason they said "gotta look" I guess because they wanted to see if it is damaged (physically) or not.
BTW, by looking at your nick, are you a certified (rph) dope-dealer or still in the making?

ok, so i'm bringing this back from the dead. hi, i'm new. just got the one of the best deals ever. 03 cls 6 aegean blue-100k mi. < that doesn't bother me. i'm loving this car 2 weeks in. posting because unfortunately my car is definitely not under any warranty. any suggestions on removing and somewhat sealing this headlamp housing to keep moisture out ? thanks a lot for any infomation.
1. take your bumper off 2. disconnect all the bulbs from the headlight, you can take the bulbs out if you want (but I didnt since they get way hotter than the oven). 3. remove the headlight. 4. pre-heat your oven to 350ºF 4. get a cookie sheet and dampen a towl, then cover the cookiesheet with the towel 5. Place the whole headlight on the cookie sheet. 6. put the cookiesheet/towel/healight into the oven thats cooking at 350ºF for 15 mins.
when the 15 mins are up, take out the headlight and get a flathead screwdriver (one that you dont care to ruin) and pry the headlight apart. The glue that headlight makers use one that expands when heated. once you have the headlight apart, make sure there is the grey sticky adhesive, aka glue, is distributed evenly all over the edges (which yours is probably not, there is a slight gap somewhere). Now if you want, you can remove that yellow reflector!!! or clean off any fingerprints!!! Once you got it all even throughout the edges, push it back together and hook those clamps all along the edges. Then stick that sucker back in the oven for 15 more mins. Take it out, let it cool for a good 30 mins and you're good to go, with a new cleared out lense and all that wont get foggy anymore! I've done this 13 different cars including mine and i've never had another fog up on me. Hope that helped

ahahahaa - thank you. it certainly helped. i now have all the information i need to take care of that. if and when i ever decide to take those 6-7 steps. wow. i'd rather drive 15 hrs. to atlanta and sit and wait an hour or two for you to take care of it. hah. thanks though for the reply. + props to you doing that 13 times. keep up the good work
I gotta try this...
Hopefully you guys still see replies to this old thread. I just bought a 2001 cl and it's a pretty cool car I just happened to stumble upon at a used car lot. Now that I see so many enthusiasts, I'm getting into it even more. My headlights have some moisture inside and are also discolored slightly (foggy, cloudy, etc.). The steps listed in this thread seem pretty simple, but no mention of using new epoxy to seal it back up? Just curious about that. Also, is there any way to just replace the plastic portion (lens) while I have it dissasembled rather than trying out the 2000-3000 grit sanding method I also saw people mentioning that looks like an all day project? Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Question....how do I aim the headlights? One seems to be pointing correctly, the other points to the sky... Any ideas?
