I was planning to mod my CL soon. I am planning to do AEM CAI, Comptech Sways, Headers, Exhaust, and springs. Now I am curious...is there any advantage to having an Acura dealer installing my mods as opposed to a "racing-import" shop? I really don't want to spend a bunch of money going to the dealer to have my mods installed, but I also don't want to void out my warranty. When I asked my acura dealer about the comptech stuff, to say the least, they were confusing as far as where they stood with it. So let's say if there is something wrong with any of my comptech stuff and I go to comptech for warranty purposes...would they accept other places that installed their stuff as covered by the warranty? Thanks for any help u can provide!

 

Comptech has no official affiliation with Acura. They are a tuner that specilizes in Honda/Acura parts. You can have them installed anywhere. If there is something wrong with the part itself, Comptech (or AEM or whoever) will cover it. If there's something wrong with the install, the shop should cover it. No mods will void your warrenty unless they can prove the mod caused the damage in question.

I most cases your better off not going to the dealer. Many will not install them. Or they will but they will charge you alot to do it. Or they may not have the performance knowhow.
