Mods - The Devil Made Me Do It!
Just picked up my car with new Comptech springs/sways, and Tokico Illumina shocks. Car looks and seems to handle great although I haven't really had it out on a twisty road yet. As so many have said before, that "floating" feeling is gone. I had them set the Tokicos at "2".
For you Vancouver members, I ordered and picked up the Comptechs from Acura of Lynnwood in Washington: $US275 for springs, $US300 for sways (plus $US13 for shipping from California).
I got the Tokicos at National Tire Wholesale in Delta for $166 each (front) and $168 each (rear). Comptech Peformance on West 5th Avenue did the installation: $300 for the springs (including wheel alignment) and $100 for the sways.
I also just received Canada Post notice that my AutoVation pedals have arrived. I'll install them this weekend.

try putting the front to 1. ride is better, and handling is still the same. also, you get more oversteer to counter the understeer nature of our fwd cars.

Just sways are hardly noticeable. Stiffer steering and a little less body roll. You have to do all the components of the suspension set-up to get the benefits when you drive. Sways, springs, shocks, strut tower bar. Then you'll notice something.

DUDE THAT'S AWESOME!!!!
Need more Vancouver peeps, we should now organize a Vancouver meet since i know lots of people are wanting to come up here for "other" reasons and i also know a few around here that would be interested.
I'd love to see your car in person and even get a taste to the new feeling of the shocks/sways before i gouge into my savings :P

I have read your posts regarding your settings. I wanted to see how it feels with the Tokicos set at "2" before trying "1" in front. I appeciate your comment that the ride is better. I'll try it this weekend.
I understand that you can reduce the FWD understeer by using softer front settings, by increasing front tire pressure or a combination of both.

Yes, I would say that there is a dramatic difference in handling. However, I don't know how much can be attributed to the sways alone. They will definitely reduce roll to some extent. Some posters have said that the sways are a good place to start. I was going to go that route, but I am not very good at gratification delay.

Why don't you PM me?

Thanks
Thanks, guys, for the good wishes and advice. Chaptorial, you've got something to look forward to.
I'm still fooling around with the settings for the Tokicos. I tried the fronts at "1" for a short trip and wasn't too keen on the feeling - sort of soft in front, stiff in the rear. I'll have to experiment on longer runs. I think I prefer the handling with front and rear at the same setting, but it's still too soon to tell.
I may even try setting them to "1" all around to see what that's like, although that involves removing the rear seats - what a pain!

The shop where I originally bought it to still has yet to complete the painting(door that got keyed) and they're welding the holes from the spoiler and repainting so the M5 spoiler can be put on.
I've narrowed it down to two shops...Park Collision and AK Autoworks.
