Is there any way to reprogram or modify the auto to hold first gear in SS? I tried searching for the answer on the forums but had no luck.

 

Nope, not possible. I know it sucks that it shifts from 1st to 2nd automatically(I guess thats why they call it an automatic, lol). Your just gonna have to deal with it. If anything if you want to control the shift from 1st to 2nd your only option would be to gate shift.

 

yeah. seriously annoying. I've gotten used to it though - in some ways it's nice to just linger in 1-2 in traffic and not have to worry about touching the lever. Would be nice if someone could reflash the tranny program though for when you want to hold 1st. oh well.

Is gate shifting as quick on the changes as SS? I've read that when you use SS it shifts like 15% quicker than when it is in D, or something like that.

 

gate shifting is quicker all around. becuause it makes up in first to second.

 

I dunno is it really quicker? I found myself hitting the rev limiter even though I shifted before it, there's a delay I think. I feel when I shift in SS it's more immediate or quicker than gate shifting.
