modded volvo vs. cl-s & rx300
So I'm on my way back from the track and I see an '03 Cl-s getting ready to run a RX300 (yes, the lexus SUV). We were doin about 50 mph and I see them take off. The cl-s instantly started pulling the RX and I decided to play along. Next thing I know, I see a gap between the RX and cl-s that's just big enough for me to sneak into. By the time I hit 90 mph, I was passing the cl-s. Btw, this is renegade's cl-s. I guess non-n20 cl-s's aren't that quick...

lol, I was saying that I have respect for CL-S... that are on the bottle... my buddy Juker008 has a CL-S on the bottle and I'm impressed, but this merely intake CL-S was unimpressive... and "if he had headers" it wouldn't have mattered

Yes guys I will admit that the 850 Turbo was a fucken monster as he did pass me pretty good... we were at 60 and we did get up to high speed so just so you know with headers I bet I could probably keep up with you or maybe even take you . By the way I could beat phillips as his G was more unimpressive then my Cl-S, the g35 1st gear is weak! Nice times at the track yesterday with your car 14.7 or whatever in that hot weather is pretty respectable although you gotta keep working on how to drive stick...that cobra you drove deserves better times ....Ill probably see you again this summer at the track sometime, you gonna mod that volvo anymore...getting a new car for college?

I think hes ran like 14.2-14.4 range somewhere before at moroso, I think he ran a best of 14.6-14.7 in 80 degree and high humidity weather yesterday.....his car is quick as fuck from a roll.....i need more then headers actually

Also, it seems that Volvo's always trap higher than other cars with the same ET. This is a good indication of their at speed pulling ability. Those turbo I5's can make some serious power. I almost had a C70 just weeks before purchasing my first CL-S back in 2000.

yea... headers won't quite do it, as my buddy Juker008's CL-S has headers, they help out alot and sound wonderful, but you can't compare n.a. to f.i.
As for mods I have intake, stock exhaust that's catless and mufflerless, just a resonator, samco turbo piping, remapped ecu for upgraded boost levels, and I was running with my 2 12"s in the trunk by the way , and like 1/3rd tank, and yea it was 86 degrees and for turbo's that sucks ass.
about the cobra, I was only going to tech his car (I had never gotten a ride in the car before, much less sat in it and driven it, the practice I got was just from the grass to the tech line, and I saw him driving down the track in my car so to hold his place I figured I'd run his) Well, I cut a 2.88 60' lol, just eased off the line with the a/c and traction control on, those of you who know cobra's know they like to go sideways and I wouldn't want to total his car, and I got a 104 trap (crap I know) and a 14.6 time, he was running 13.2's, 13.1's, and his last run was a 12.78 all he has is intake and exhaust on it. Sick car... so yea, a 14.6 @ 104 with a 2.88 60', if I had cut a 2.2 that would be a 13.4 run, I didn't feel like sending his cobra into a wall the first time I drove it :P
hey scalbert, that ic helping out the sc? I remember looking at it with my jaw dropped wondering dam this guy's a psycho, and yea I still want a C70 5spd coupe, one day... one day...
as for future volvo plans... I have a new(er) bigger turbo sitting over there ---> and I'm upgrading to a real 3" turbo-back exhaust, and upping the boost from the current 15 PSI to 18 PSI, I feel that now I'm putting down around 230 - 245 whp, I expect to be putting near 265 - 280 WHP down as the newer turbo is larger, and I will finally have a true exhaust... my fastest time to date is a 14.305 @ 97ish MPH, the intake I have is quite restrictive as it makes a 45 degree bend going into the turbo, so I am having that reworked and I expect to be trapping 98-100 at that point thanks guys for the volvo love (don't get that too often anymore)

I have asked Leighton (typeR) numerous times, however he doesn't want to run I really like his cl-s... let's remember we're comparing an acura luxury sports car that comes with 260 HP stock to a heavy ass volvo sedan that has 222 HP stock... f.i. vs. n.a. debate, please... you guys have VTEC!!!!!!!! :P

the volvo must be a pig. you do know the cl-s weighs 3500lbs, right?
it would be hard to have somebody race for me, since hardly anyone is running as quick as me.
last time i was at the track n/a i ran a 14.20@99+ on my first run.

lol, you know I meant leighton as SFLA-TypeS, I was at the track with him a while ago, his car is schweeet, that thing looks awesome. I was exaggerating on the weight, the volvo's near that weight. 14.2's at 99+ is extremely fast for the cl-s' man, I am thoroughly impressed... this is now going to go o/t lol... what # tranny? I feel you would beat me on a roll with my current setup, I don't know if Leighton is running similar n/a times but I know he is fast as all hell on the bottle, only one way to find out I'd call him but I lost his #... we'll see if maybe there is a SFLA Type-S off spray vs. modded volvo thread in a little while
