I noticed that Mobile 1 now offers 5W-20, but nobody sells it

Anyone found a store that sells it yet? I have tried Pepboys, Walmart, Autozone, Advanced Auto. Thats pretty much the extent of the auto stores in my area.

 

autozone, advanced auto or pepboys should be able to special order it for you, or you can upgrader to a better oil and get it from summitracing.com, such as royal purple or redline. i run red line in mine and love it, along with a k&n oil filter.

 

I found it at Murrays, but yeah if a store carries Mobil-1 they can get it. Most likely you'll have to buy the whole case though.

 

I get it at PepBoys, I buy the calendar for a $1, and then in middle of the calendar theres a coupon for buy 3 quarts of mobile one and get 3 free. And yes they carry Mobile one synthetic 0w20 made for 5w20 cars. I aways get mine there, and walmart also carries it. I live in Tennessee, so it may be different. Also if you go to pepboys, you may want to buy a bunch of calendars as I am sure they will not be carrying the calendars anymore since it is toward the middle of year and you will most likely have to ask the customer service rep for one.

 

How long can you keep using 5W-20 till you need to switch to a thicker oil?

 

I just got two cases of Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5-30 at Advanced Auto for $13 a case (6 bottles) after a $15 rebate. Sick price. Also picked up a couple of Valvoline High Milage oil filters for free after rebate.

 

Forever.

 

Just use the 5w- 30. Honda (along with Ford) made the switch to the '20' to help meet CAFE mileage standards.
