Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4
I've always wanted one, but they're pretty hard to find in MI... I don't know, I always thought they were really pretty cars... wondering about other people's opinions about those cars... also if anyone knew if they made convertibles of them?
Thanks
Thanks

I never owned one, but I heard they were a maintenance nightmare.
Especially once the turbos get some miles on them.
No convertible that I remember, but there was a “Spyder” version with a retractable hardtop.
It was VERY pricey when new (50K), but I have no idea what they sell for now.

I think it would be fun, but I also heard that maintenance was a nightmare... The VR4 Spyder looks awesome!!!
Any idea what they retail for now?

Revving at 9K...
It use to be one of my favorite cars too.. that is until I found out that in their stock forms.. a VR4 couldn't hang with Nissan's 300Z turbo, Supra Turbo, or a RX7 turbo. The only good thing is that it is AWD.
IMO, I think I would rather get any of the other three cars I've listed instead of the VR4. Especially a 6 speed Supra Turbo.

I had always like the car, but the quality kinda sucked. Very nice....the VR-4 Spyder was really sweet, especially with the spoiler that retracts on speed.
Just saw a black one parked outside the shopping center yesterday night...very nice. All shined up!
But will probably never consider getting one 'cause of the maintenance problems.

Are the maintenance problems factory, or is it just because people beat the crap out of them? Before getting my CL I was gonna get a 3000gt, but it had 7 owners in 4 years... Its got problem car written all over it!

I had a 91 3000GT. It was a great car but extremely heavy by todays standards. I never had a problem and I had one of the first ones. I loved and sold it for a profit and the end of the lease to a guy who was taking it to Germany. I'll do the same with my CL-S.

try 62K, the retractable hardtop added 20K to the price

wow thats some good info. Back before I even began driving, I wanted a 3000gt.
So, awd AND retractable hardtop? Dam thats cool. But the stock form wasnt that fast was it? I looked a while back, and it was not that fast for its price

A 96 Vr4 was my very first car. Its very expensive to mod. I got rid of it because I wanted sometihng classier and more luxury. But all in all no problems really and I drove it pretty hard. for 2 years.
