Mission Impossible!!!
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to go to www.lexus.com and build a base model IS300 (Transmission of your choice) for under $31,000.
Guess what... YOU CAN'T!!!
[rant]
Why does Lexus call something an OPTION on their web page when I'm f'ing FORCED to pick an option that adds $2,300 to the price of the car I'm trying to build?!?! What a total pile of BS! If cloth seats are standard then how come I can't build an IS300 with Cloth seats? If Power seats and sunroofs are OPTIONAL, why am I forced to pick a BS options package that includes them?!?! Finally, why am I forced to pay for wheel locks and a trunk mat because its "standard" for my area? I'm supposed to be building a new f'ing car, not picking one out a dealerships inventory.
[/rant]
I'm going to a dealership tomorrow and I hope they got some answers to my questions cuz if not I call false advertising on Lexus if they say the base MSRP is $30,800 for the E-Shift, yet I'm FORCED to add options which increase the price to over $33,000.
Lexus, Hitler would be proud...

Don't worry about it, BNut. It's just a screwy script. I never had to pay for my floormats, locks, or trunkmat. I also know a few people who bought the car with cloth seats, although I don't believe there is such a thing as power cloth seats. If you want to know what's required for a specific option, just PM me.

Lexus has a bunch of strange regional requirements also. The zip code you put in locks and unlocks certain options and packages. A dealer could probably order a car any way you wanted it - however, I've heard people on IS300.net saying they've been waiting months for special order cars.

I drove to Baton Rouge today and talked to a salesperson. Lexus just lost any chance at getting me as a customer.
I CAN special order a car exactly like I want (no sunroof, manual cloth seats) etc... but its a 6 month waiting period from the date you send in your order!
FTS!!! (Use your imagination for this acronym)
I didn't even bother test driving one since the interior has some whack azz horizontal "dimples" on the doors and the dash that I don't like.
I test drove the 330i with Sports Package and WOW!!! Car seriously kicks azz... the interior is top notch, the auto climate controls rock... you can customize the car so that your horn does or doesn't honk when activating the alarm, the light do or do not flash... auto up and down one touch windows with pinch protection. Auto rolldown of ALL windows with a touch of a button on the key.
One word... DAYUM!
I went to the Audi dealership to test drive an S4 but they only have a single S4 which is a 6spd and the salesperson said that Audi stopped production of the S4 so you can't special order one.
Well once CompTech releases the S/C it will be time to place my order for a new 330ci with sport package. I figure by the time I get the SC and am ready to have it installed my car should arrive (6-8 weeks) so I can put the Accord in the shop for the SC install while I enjoy my new daily driver.
