Misfiring incident in STL

Misfiring incident in STL

This is my first post, here, but I have read hundreds of articles on this site, that being said I have a question.

Two days ago my CEL came on after I started my car when I was done eating lunch. No hard driving nor sub zero temp. It was about 50 outside and I had driven it about a block to where I was going. When I came out and started it, there was the CEL. I was able to take it to Advance Auto to read the codes (found out I could do that from reading this forum)

P0304
P0306
P0300

DTC Pending Codes
P1399

I know the first 4 are the misfire codes for cylinder 1,4,&6 and I'm assuming the last one is related to the misfire as well even though it could be the Ignition system.

The consensus from all the other posts I have read is to restart the CEL, which I did by removing the battery leads for about an hour. When I started the car back up again, the light was gone, I just drove it to the ATM and hopped on the highway for about 5 minutes, the light stayed off.

Am I in the clear? or should I go ahead and start replacing the coil packs? I have about 92K miles w/ an 03 CL-S 6MT, bone stock except for a drop in K&N. Looking forward to all your advice

I wouldn't worry about it until the light comes back on.

Thats what I figured, but I went ahead and bought 6 spark plugs and a can of sea foam. I split the can 50/50 gas/oil. I haven't installed the spark plugs yet, due to everyone's suggestion that after running sea foam they will get real dirty. I was going to wait till I need a new tank of gas.

Is it still worth the spark plugs or should I return those too? To my knowledge they are the originals from the factory. I bought the car used and I didn't see any maintenance notes.

Yeah, it's probably time to change them anyway. Also, you'll want to change the oil after you put seafoam in the crank case after you run it for a few miles or so.

Could have been bad gas...

I filled up at exxon once and got a few codes after a flashing CEL...

Misfire
Misfire Piston 1
Misfire Piston 2
Misfire Piston 3
Misfire Piston 4
Misfire Piston 5
Misfire Piston 6

Yeah, wasnt happy about that one...

Anyway, I cleared the codes, it came back after 20 miles. Then I filled up at the local Hess, and it all went away...
