Arrow MIL codes... can someone explain

So I have been dealing with this friggin p1457 code

replaced the vent shut valve, canister, canister purge solenoid, two way valve and purge solenoid...

every time i did it i reset the CEL and LEFT the MIL code stored....

the CEL woould come on the day after a bunch of driving.. now that i have deleted the CEL and the MIL code... the cel is still gone a day later?

i checked with my scanner and it said p1457 stored in the MIL (so it came back cause i cleared it i guess)

but now my CEL is not lighting up after a day of driving like it did before.??

I cannot find any information on the MIL codes and their relation to the CEL light.. if someone could enlighten me that would be wicked... thanks

From what I understand (and I could be incorrect) after you reset the ECU to yellow (light will be off), there are tests performed by the computer and after a certain set of driving conditions happen (for example: you must drive 20mph, turn off the engine, drive at 50mph for a certain amount of time etc...) the ECU will reset to green if and only if there are no red flags. If there are any red flags, the the CEL light will come back on.

p1457 leak in evap since you have removed and replaced most stuff check any remaining hoses. also a certain number of drive cycles have to be completed in order for the hard code to be cleared. also check EGR

K well the mil code comes up first in the ecu and if it happens thre times then it triggers the cel...

Cel came on last night.

Well looks like I am leaving the car at acura today.

Hopefully it's something stupid and cheap I have missed.

Could even be the gas cap. I had the same code earlier and just replaced the gas cap. It has been a few weeks now and the code has never come back.

Gas cap is p1456 related not p1457. I hope it ends up being a gas cap lol that would be jokes... I am dropping it off at acura today... Going to BC for some snowblading and chillout time.

Will see what acura says.. I am super curious tho I must say. I just hope it's not a killer bill.

They both have to do with the evap system though, but even with a $9 generic fuel cap from AutoZone is worth a shot:

P1456 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System)
P1457 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Control Canister System)

Car I at acura now so I will know soon enough what it is. If it is the gas cap I will gladly bow down and say you are right but I am so far lost of hope at this point it's sad

Here is a DIY for it. It is common for the valve to get rusted/stuck close or open.

Oh wait did you say you already replaced that part?

Yes I already did that..

Well apparently my 2 way bypass valve was stuck open somehow... The new one! I dunno what my buddy did but its fixed.. He ran the input and output test 4 times and passed everything. Did a smoke test and no leaks so its ready to rock.he said a hose was fucked up or something too... Not too sure as I am in bc and my car is in Ontario. But it took 3or 4 hours so its going to be expensive.
