Met this Pretentious NSX owner....

So I went to the dealership today to get my oil changed...this guy was there talking about his NSX, so I struck up a conversation. He was talking about how he just bought an integra "It's a Toy" (to properly learn stick). This dude was so fuckin arrogent it was annoying... "It's better if you pay cash for your car, they'll get you a better deal...I paid 55k for my '95 last year" I mean...who the fuck cares? This guy was a total dork. I typically see dorks like him with nice cars hella pretentious and arrogent. "Yeah, I'll probably get the upcoming '04 next year...and I'll sell this one and pay for it in cash of course...chuckle..chuckle...." I mentioned that before I got my CL I was considering a used '93/'94 NSX...the prices were comparable..... he was like "You were going to get a used NSX? And then you "settled for a CL??" Damn..I wanted to say SHUT THE FUCK UP!! ...are all NSX Drivers as ghey as this guy?

You find car owner's arrogant for every car. More with expensive cars...but no there are some nice exotic car owners.

There are guys on the Viper board who I'm sure could buy and sell that guy 10 folds....who are totally cool and not arrogant in the least bit.

Anybody that goes into how "paying cash for a car is the way to go because you get a better deal" is an ass.......you can actually get a better deal if you finance, because the dealer will be making a back end reserve (generally). If the dealer has a choice, you paying cash or financing- they will choose the finance term all day long.

Some people need to remove their head from their asses. I believe that's all I need to say.

That guy sucks....

It's so refreshing when you meet someone that has a hot car like the NSX or Viper that is really cool and laid back... I hope most NSX drivers are not like this jerk.

If you wanted to get back at him just start talking about how the CL is your "toy" for learning automatic so you don't burn out the hydraulic pumps on your chromed-out, tinted Escalade-truck with 24-inch rims.

Or you bought a new 03 NSX as your toy, and you can't really decide whether to use your DB7 or Modena as your commute vehicle.

I own an NSX and associate with a lot of NSX owners in our local club and really haven't met an owner as you described in the first posting. This guy was a jackass. Give's us NSX owners a bad rap. Most NSX owners are the coolest people around. I'm active in our Northern California NSX Club and have met some of the nicest people and made tons of new friends. Others in the club who've owned other sport cars and associated in their club say that a lot of people are snobby and in a "my car is better than your car" mode.

Maybe you met one of our bad apples.

CL Content: I'm looking to possibly getting a CL Type S 6-speed so I'm browsing around here for more info.

Cheers,

Vytas

My Dad owned an NSX and wears ripped jeans and Castrol Motor Oil and John Force Racing shirts. When people ask him what he paid for the car he said not sure. So nah.

Looks like you followed in your Dad's footsteps by driving a CL but wearing the ugliest shoes to date.
