New COMMAND System

Mercedes has finally decided to upgrade their CDROM based NAVI to a DVD based one like Acura has been using for like 2 years now... all i can say is about damn time!!!

Anyway.. i am looking into buysing a used S430 now... hope i can find one i like...

Only concern of the mercedes is that developers of cellular phone developers do not take reliability of software too seriously - with the reliability Nokia shall learn from Mercedes.

if you want a used S Class get a MY01 that is if your interested in a bulit in voice activation phone, plus voice activation also does navi, cd, radio, tape, MY00 has either a analog microtek phone (which is no longer available in case it breaks) or a duel mode startak (shitty rates), MY01 you can install a Motorola Timeport

the current navi system, installed in my freinds 2002 C320 is useless, its not even a touch screen. we were driving and I was messing with it, it sucked a phat one. does not help worth of shit.

Hey i just wanted to say thanks for that reply... i was already negotiating for an S 430 with Linguatronic (voice activated stuff for u other guys) about $55,000.
I am glad i know this now.. coz i wanted to get that new Motorolla phone( Hello Moto- V90? Phone) to work with it... i guess it will only work with the 2002 models then huh?

 

i think it will also work with the MY01 (since the MY02's are out when the v60 arrived we have just installed them in that year ) remember it has to be the benz v60 (with the star on it) a normal v60 will work, but not properly, also causes strange electrical problems, battery drains, we had this happen already - internal software in the phone is different, voice command on a MY01 will operate the phone, some of the possible commands are add name, add number, dial name, dial number, call, cancel, , tape commands seek, play, stop, rewind, fast forward, cd commands disc 1-6 track number, cd, (can go from any componant to another by saying its name, pull lever say: tape, navigation, phone, cd, radio, - (radio is nice, i just pull lever and say 93 point 7 fm, and it changes for me) also you have weatherband, there are alot of other commands all you have to say is help, she asks for what system, just say phone, tape, cd whatever and the female voice will call out all of the commands, voice activation is definaltly worth it
