Mercedes Phaeton?

It appears VW isn't only interested in stealing Mercedes' market share; it'll quite happily borrow the firm's names, too. VW's new Phaeton is aimed at the S-Class, but the name was first used on a Merc.

You'd need a long memory to confuse them, though, as the original (right) was around in 1895. And its two-pot 2,690cc motor would struggle to match the VW's performance, as it produced only 8bhp.

Hehehehe....

nevermind that it generally refers to a car that is driven by an uncovered chauffeur while the passengers are inside the rear compartment...
