Mercedes Benz C-Spot Drive Party

Mercedes Benz C-Spot Drive Party
Has anyone gone to the Mercedes Benz C-Spot Drive Party? It's very similar to the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience. This event was specifically targeted for C-class cars. They had a small course setup to let you drive various C-class cars (no AMG) on a track they call "Deadly Turns". It was pretty fun...the sedans handled pretty good and I didn't hit any cones. But when I drove the C320 Coupe, I felt the car didn't stick too well as compared to the sedan...I wiped out pretty bad. Maybe it's because it wasn't all wheel drive?
Anyways, they also had a wet course for you to test on their C320 rear and their 4-matic cars.
There was also a course where a professional driver takes you on a course in the AMG.
They did a race against an M3 as well and it performed better in acceleration (slightly) and in stopping (big difference). I think it is sort of rigged.

I've done these 2 years in a row but didn't get invited this year.
Highlights:
A C220 hatch auto is a cow. Felt like driving a Saturn. Next to it was an IS300 that felt really great and handled way better.
Did a torque brake launch in a E320 new gen and the guy got pissed at me. :P I don't think it helps these cars since they have those electric gizmos.
Drove an S430. Wow.
I think a CLK430 (previous gen) either handles crappy or an E430 handled better. But I liked the way the drove E better.

I probably just missed you there...we were there for the 11am group but stayed until like 1 or 1:30pm or something like that. Free food and free ragging on cars!
At least we got some free golf balls and a Mercedes cap!

I went to the one in the DC area this summer with my sister, and she laughed. We pulled up in her X5 and drove the cars. She wants the AMG and so do I, but she'll get one before I ever will.
Go and drive the hell outta the cars and have fun. Also look out for the refridgerators with the TV screens in the door, they were kick ass!

Went to the one over at Rye Playland yesterday. Went with some friends and it was a pretty enjoyable time. They only had the C class models to drive. Drove the C320, C320 4MATIC, C240 and C320 Sport Coupe. Really liked the 4MATIC and the way it gripped the road. They wet the starting line down and i floored it but never even broke loose. That C320 Sport Coupe was real small on the inside and felt no where near the 30k price tag it has on it. Three pointed star or not.
We rode with a Professional driver in the C32. That was damn fun as the guy was throwing us around from side to side. I felt a little nauseous at the end too.
They had all the other cars from every class on display to sit in etc. Got to sit in the S600 and WOW what a car that is. Also the CL500 is so freakin huge with the seats all the way back. I thought to myself this was the "CL" i should have bought.
Overall we all had a good time and the food and drinks were an added bonus. Now i'm waiting for the BMW one. Anyone get the heads up on that please let me know.
No pics or nothing so i wasn't gonna start a new thread...

I also went to the C-Spot Drive Party today (at Rye, Playland) and must say that I had a blast! Drove the 320 coupe for the first time and found it to be a very fun car to drive. Didn't really get to push it but the handling is very good. The steering feel actually surprised me. Not as much fun as my C32 but still pretty good. The rides in the C32 were awesome! Great to see what the car can really do. Besides sheer acceleration, they pushed the car a lot farther than I would be capable of (very hard braking, turning, a bit of drifiting, etc). There were a total of 4 C32's running the course (all with Michellin Pilot Sports! I didn't think these tires can handle that well in the wet at those levels). Don't know what kind of driving training they have under their belts but they very well know how to drive these things even under adverse conditions. Parking lot was wet (it had rained in the morning) and had large patches of uneven pavement. For those of you that haven't been to one, I highly recommend it. It's free. Just a couple hours of your time.
