I saw that too and they were a little wide for the car. Not enough offset IMO.

i think they will fit, its just that they will stick outward a little further. as time has passed by, i am no longer interested in his rims, but feel free to keep the thread alive for the people interested.

the a-spec wheels would look better then the plain TL 5 stars on our CL's. IMO.

The 04' stock (17x8) TL rims fit perfect on a CL-S. I have a set on my 02' CL-S and have had no problems at all. They look good and are very inexpensive. I good upgrade in my opinion.

Here's some pics..

Do the math...

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 3mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 23mm (.9")

And you're dropped on OE springs. Try those dropped on the new Comptech/Eibach pro-kit. Rubadubdub.

The outside edge of the wheel will extend an extra 23mm (.9") ???
Stock CL-S wheels are 7.5", stock 04' TL wheels are 8.0" wide. That only a 12.7mm (.5") difference ?

I guess Im not seeing where you get such a big difference.

If oem is 17X7.5 +50, wouldn't the 04TL 17X8 +45 rim extend about 1.3mm inwards and 11.3 mm outwards?.

When I saw that '02 CL-S with the A-Spec wheels I couldn't believe they fit, but those are 18" x 8.5" and they didn't come out beyond the fender. That's on Comptech springs too.

Wouldn't the 04 TL 17X8 +45 be 2.6mm inwards and 22.6mm outwards?

Incorrect. CL-S = 7" wide. TL-S = 6.5" wide.

So, BlueByYou:

How far, if at all, do your wheels stick out? Have you had any trouble with rubbing or getting those wheels balanced properly?

I would like to put the 04 TL wheels on my wife's CL-S so that I can put her CL-S wheels on my TL-P...

Thanks

Interesting... always thought it was the other way around but thanks for the correction.
Reguardless, the 04' TL 17x8" OEM wheels/tires do fit on a CL-S. Im running the H&R OE springs and have no rubbing issues at all. Keeps that factory look as well. Maybe with a lower drop it would rub but Im not sure.

Roger-Allan,
They do not stick out any, darn near flush to the edge of the fender. No rubbing issues either, you'll be happy with them im sure. No balance issues either. They come balanced from the factory and I have never had to have them re-balanced. Smooth, comfortable ride....

ok how about this one. i heard the new TL a-spec wheels with the silver finish not the dark gunmetal finish are 18x8, where as the old a-spec's where 18x8.5 Do you think those will fit a little better and fit more inclined to our wheel wells? my buddy knows a guy willing to sell his new silver a-spec 18's and if they dont stick out, then i might be all over these.

No for the 10th time. 18x8 +45 will rub with a drop. Looks like they make the Nakayama Vadors (OEM A-spec wheel) in 18x7.5. Assuming +45 offset, you'll be good to go with those.
